Mohammed Ali Belaoo

Mohammed Ali Belaoo is a respected British Islamic scholar, preacher, academic, mufti, and qari of Libyan origin. He is known for his work in Islamic education, Qur’anic studies, community leadership, imam training, and guidance for Muslim communities in the United Kingdom and beyond. He memorised the Qur’an at a young age and went on to study the ten Qira’aat, Islamic jurisprudence, Aqeedah, Usul al-Fiqh, Maqasid al-Shariah, Hadith, and other traditional Islamic sciences. His background combines classical Islamic scholarship with formal academic study, giving him a strong foundation in both religious teaching and practical community service. Dr. Mohammed Ali Belaoo has served as an imam, teacher, lecturer, researcher, and religious advisor in different countries. His work includes teaching Islamic sciences, training imams and community leaders, supporting mosque development, and providing religious guidance on issues affecting Muslims in modern society. He is especially recognised for his interest in the jurisprudence of Muslim minorities, helping Muslims understand how to practise their faith while living in non-Muslim-majority countries.
