MTP 487: Don't Write On the Bananas! with Rich Urick

Join us as Steve and Sheila welcome a good friend, Rich Urick, to the show for the very first time. On this episode, Rich recalls his visit to the Orlando area in 1992, when his hopes of going to Walt Disney World for the first time were dashed thanks to Hurricane Andrew moving through Florida. It wouldn't be until 2007 that he would finally make it to the parks, this time with his wife and children. The trip was filled with magical moments that he still holds dear in his heart today, just as much as he did back then. Rich also talks about his life as a podcaster and shares his excitement about his upcoming new Disney podcast, The House of Mouse Musings. To close out the episode, Rich shares some of his favorite things at Walt Disney World that he enjoys. Below are the links mentioned in the show if you would like to connect with Rich. MTP 484: Lounging at Disney with Dave and Rita Greiner

Join us as Bill and Sheila welcome back past guests to the show and good friends, Dave and Rita Greiner, as they share details from their recent trip to Walt Disney World. For them, this trip was a spur-of-the-moment decision to take a few relaxing days away. They were less focused on rides and more interested in exploring new lounges and hidden gems across the parks and resorts. Some of the lounges they checked out included Trader Sam's, Enchanted Rose, and Topolino's, while sampling new drinks along the way. Before heading home, they were also able to visit the new DVC lounge over in Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom. Before you continue on your next Disney adventure, we would love to hear from you. MTP 483: Making Magic-One Mile At A Time!

Join us as Sheila chats with Gary, who shares all the details about a recent three-night trip he took with his wife to Disneyland to attend the runDisney weekend. Besides running in the half marathon, there were two other things that Gary really had his heart set on accomplishing during this trip. The first was to buy the Key to Disneyland (an interactive park experience). With this key, he set out to find nine locations within the park to unlock hidden magic along the way. The other mission for Gary was to meet Baymax, which took a couple of tries, but he got there in the end. The true highlight of the weekend, however, was running the half marathon side by side with his best friend while his wife cheered them on from the sidelines. Listen in to hear how the race went for him. Closing out the show, Gary also shares tips and advice to help you make the most of your next Disney adventure. MTP 481: Sliders, Sloths and Popcorn Buckets!

Join Sheila and Al for a fun and lively discussion on Al's two-night stay in Orlando that was filled with fun and surprises. Al's first priority upon getting to the parks was to obtain a Figment popcorn bucket and to take one last ride on the Dinosaur attraction before it closes forever. Then Al takes us outside of the parks and shares his visit to the antique store "Recycling The Magic" and tells the story of his best buy of the day, which was a pair of "Year of a Million Dreams Mickey Ears," taking him back to his days as a cast member working on the Dream Squad. He also talks about some new attractions coming to the Orlando area, which include a Mattel waterpark, a White Castle restaurant, and an animal experience attraction featuring a sloth emporium. To close out the show, Al gives us a very exciting update on the Waffles Foundation.   Connect with Al & The Waffles Foundation The Waffles Foundation • Website: https://www.wafflesfoundation.org/ • Email: wafflesfoundation@gmail.com Al's YouTube Channel – Kindred Souls of America • https://www.youtube.com/@KindredSoulsOfAmerica Be sure to check out the amazing work Al is doing through the Waffles Foundation and follow his adventures and stories on his YouTube channel. MTP 480: Josh D'Amaro and Dana Walden — or, Two Heads Are Better Than One (Unless They're Both Wearing Mickey Ears)

Join Ric and Patrick as they unpack the big Disney announcement: Josh D'Amaro named CEO and Dana Walden appointed President & Chief Creative Officer. We share our thoughts on why this pairing feels like the best of both worlds—steady business leadership alongside true creative vision—and how it echoes the classic Disney partnerships of Walt and Roy and later Eisner and Wells. Is this the balance Disney has been searching for? We talk about what these roles mean for the parks, the studios, and the future of storytelling, while also reflecting on the lessons of the recent past and the hopes we have for the road ahead. It's a conversation about where Disney has been, where it is now, and whether a "great big beautiful tomorrow" might be just around the corner.
