    In the mid-1800s, two fur trappers had found their way deep into the backwoods that make up the forgotten reaches of the BitterRoot Mountains. Their mission was to aquire pelts, a tedious task both had assumed would be an easy feat to accomplish. Their bounty should have been plentiful in the isolating woods, however, set back after set back forced them to journey deeper into the unknown wilds.     Welcome back to the final installment of this month's series: "The Colourful Characters of Christmas!" It has been incredibly fun exploring all the different beliefs and tradition that make this holiday season so special, but there is one figure who we have yet to touch on, and she is possibly the most terrifying of them all. Her name is Frau Perchta, a christmas witch found in Alpine folklore, who wanders the villages with a pair of oversized scissors, ready  to cut open the bellys of ill-behaved children.
