Moose Hunt Podcast Christopher Richards

Episode 43 host Chris Richards along with team members Nathan Theriault and Ken Mayo sit down for two conversations at the 2024 State of Maine Sportsman's Show in Augusta Maine. The first conversation is with David Trahan, Executive Director of the Sportman's Alliance of Maine (S.A.M.) David shares the history and importance of this organization and then shares some current political issues that are on the radar of S.A.M. before closing with some stories of his own moose hunting experience. The second conversation is with Maine State Senator Matt Pouliot. Matt was on the podcast in June of 2023 celebrating the fact that he had won his own moose permit. Matt ultimately decided to hire OMM Outfitters to guide him on his moose hunting adventure in Northern Maine and they had a truly special hunt which he shares in exciting detail in this episode. 

Episode 42 is a live episode recorded while at the 2024 Eastern Maine Sportsman Show hosted at the University of Maine. The team sit down a few different folks to hear about moose stories from the past, an exciting and wonderful fundraising initiative and also shares their perspectives on the most common major mistakes people make on their moose hunt- whether guided or unguided.

Episode 41 Chris sits down with team members Nathan Theriault, Ken Mayo as well as Nathan's daughter Autumn. The episode begins with Autumn telling the story of calling a 40" bull right up to the truck when she was only 3 or 4 years old while she was on an adventure in the woods with her father. Nathan then shares the in depth adventure of his recent ocellated turkey hunt in Mexico with many laughs along the way. In a sudden change of flavor Chris then shares the story of how his kitchen ended up literally falling apart while he was away guiding this past year before the episode comes to close with the team discussing the idea of attempting to pattern moose. Mike is a professional lobster fisherman and taxidermist by trade with a true passion for the outdoors and adventure. What they encountered along the way was beyond their imaginations- including an accident that put Mike in what could have been a life threatening situation due to injury.
