    41. Finding Hope in the Stories We Didn't Choose – Kelly Streiff

    41. Finding Hope in the Stories We Didn't Choose – Kelly Streiff

Kelly Streiff has a strong voice of encouragement and hope for everyone, but especially those who resonate with the loss of a child. The two of us have been connected for years through sharing a similar passion and practice of speaking, but over the last six months our stories connected in a deeper way. What I love about Kelly is that she is clear about the pain she has experienced, but she is equally – if not more – bold about the hope, goodness, and life that is still available to us even in the middle of the story. This episode has already been a life source for me in this season and I believe it will speak right to where you are too.

    40. Theology 101 – Dr. Emily McGowin

    40. Theology 101 – Dr. Emily McGowin

Dr. Emily McGowin is one of my favorite professors from my graduate program at Wheaton. She is brilliant and has a gift for discussing theological truths in a way that intersects with real, everyday life. She portrays truth about God with clarity while holding tension for how that is reflected this side of eternity. I distinctly remember the conversations from class continuing on over dinner and into the evenings with my cohort while we metabolized the rich theological concepts from class that day – which is exactly what this episode felt like. Dr. Emily McGowin is an Assistant Professor of Theology at Wheaton College, she serves as priest in the Anglican Church of North America, as well as a writer and speaker alongside being a wife and mother of three (ages 13, 12, and 9).

    39. Expectant vs. Expecting

    39. Expectant vs. Expecting

A little head's up for anyone listening whose heart feels tender towards miscarriage, this episode includes Scott and I's story with our second pregnancy loss.

From that disclaimer, you will know that this episode shares our recent experience with losing our second pregnancy. Alongside where we are at with everything, I wanted to take space to talk through some of my thoughts and hopes here. Even though we are heartbroken we feel so much love from our friends and family, as well as a sense of peace with the Lord. We're expectant while we continue to wait to be expecting. Thank you in advance for your kindness to us. My heart is with anyone who is walking into the holidays this year holding the loss of a loved one – especially a little life you were expecting.

    38. Liturgies for Hope – Audrey Elledge and Elizabeth Moore

    38. Liturgies for Hope – Audrey Elledge and Elizabeth Moore

Audrey Elledge and Elizabeth Moore co-authored a beautiful book together called Liturgies for Hope: Sixty Prayers for the Highs, the Lows, and Everything in Between. This book was born out of navigating life in New York City in 2020 while the city was known as the epicenter for the pandemic. But these words reach beyond quarantine and speak specifically into life today with words like, "A Liturgy For Those in Need of a Good Cry", "A Liturgy For a Lunch Break", and "A Liturgy For Those Who Haven't Belly Laughed Recently".

Honestly for myself, listening to this conversation that we recorded a few weeks ago miraculously speaks into my today in a way I couldn't have imagined. You'll love this book – without a doubt – and you'll adore the authors after this conversation.

Kirstie Horton is the kind of woman who not only pursues her dreams wholeheartedly, but champions others along the way which results in a movement. She is the founder of Freedom Fleur, a for-profit social enterprise that strives to resource visionary women. Kirstie believes in empowering women entrepreneurs to take the next step in their God-given dreams. 36. Anonymous – Dr. Alicia Britt Chole

Dr. Alicia Britt Chole's book, Anonymous: Jesus' Hidden Years and Yours, radically changed my perspective a few years ago when I picked it up for the first time – so much so, that I've gifted it to multiple friends and recently pulled it back out to read through it again. Alicia is absolutely brilliant and her thoughts about God, and the way our daily life walks in step with Jesus, comes from a deep well of personal experience and individually wrestling to understand. She has been on my list of dream guests for the podcast!

Callie Christy ,

Thank you Nikki for hosting this!

Nikki is so wise & thoughtful, & each episode has a new perspective on whatever subject Nikki is talking about. Her love for the LORD is so evident through her words. Highly recommend!!

I had the privilege of getting to watch Nikki speak this summer at Winshape at Cohutta Springs, & she brings so much wisdom & has such a beautiful stage presence. The way she presented the Gospel was so clear & in the few minutes that we were able to have a conversation, I could see that God is so evident in her life, words, & actions. Thank you Nikki for your obedience to the LORD, it is inspiring!!
