    Episode 13: We owe HOW MUCH NOW???

    Episode 13 -- a lucky number! Auspicious, even! Particularly given the topic of "the national debt and the bond market." Oh wait, no, not lucky. The other thing. OH NO Heather is here to reassure us while also raising some very valid concerns and letting us all know that we should be thinking about this matter. She also recommends reaching out to old friends, which I heartily endorse. Sometimes you get to start a podcast with one of those friends! We wish you all an excellent holiday weekend. Eyes on the road, but ears on Moronomics, maybe?

    Episode 12: How do I get a job?!

    Episode 12 is about the labor market and specifically about getting a job -- applications, open jobs, the number of jobs that exist, whether those jobs are even real, how long it takes to get a job, what jobs are "hot" and which ones are ... less hot? Joe struggles with these descriptions. Possibly undue and immodest humility in his way? Hmmm! For more on that, contact your nearest Sensitive Young Man. Heather brings her usual authoritative and nuanced expertise to this topic. Joe brings bombastic and clueless questions and speculation. Par for the course, if you've listened to our other episodes. Also, Joe got a new webcam and so he looks even weirder than usual. Sound off in the comments if you'd like Joe to use his old webcam, or if you'd rather Joe turn off his video altogether.     Episode 11: *Seinfeld Voice* What's the deal with Immigration??

    In this episode, we tackled a light topic with very little controversy around it: the economics of immigration. Ha! Heather mentions a paper from the Dallas Federal Reserve, and I promised a link to it, so here it is: https://www.dallasfed.org/research/papers/2026/wp2607 Heather also recommended an app/website called "TooGoodtoGo" to make better use of food that might otherwise go to waste. Joe recommended a telescopic fishing rod. You don't need a link for that. Just get one and go fishing!

    Episode 10: Why aren't people having kids?!?!

    Whether people come from the perspective of economic growth, climate change, nationalism, or any number of other perspectives, everyone seems to have an opinion on declining birth rates. In this episode, we talk about the economics of this issue and share about our personal connections. What do you think?     Episode 9: The Ozempic Economy (from personal experience)

    In this episode, the roles are reversed, with Heather asking Joe questions about his experiences with GLP-1 drugs. These include semaglutide and tirzepatide, or their brand names like Ozempic and Zepbound. Joe talks about his own experiences with being fat and using these drugs to become less fat. Then Heather fills us in on the possible economic ramifications of the growing use of GLP-1's.     This episode begins somewhat bombastically, with a special one-time-only intro! Then we get down to business -- a shout-out to Jerome Powell as well as Joe's favorite fighter jet. Then we actually get down to business. Heather explains the petrodollar, oil, and the economics of all this... well, all this. Can you imagine how well a non-moron could understand everything?
