Community and the Greater Moncton Running Club - With Colin McQuade, Lindsay Laltoo and Aaron Sellers #160 Part B

An excellent conclusion to a wonderful talk with Colin McQuade, Lindsay Laltoo, and Aaron Sellers. All three runners are from the Greater Moncton Running Club and listening to this episode you can tell these three get along so well. Running, staying in shape, and being active in the community are important to this group. It's nice seeing people helping others to achieve their goals while working on their own, it makes for a wonderful time out with your peers. Motivation is contagious and we hope this week's talks motivate someone to get out and be active. Be safe out there and see you next week.

Community and the Greater Moncton Running Club - With Colin McQuade, Lindsay Laltoo and Aaron Sellers #160 Part A

In this week's episode, we are thrilled to sit down with three wonderful people in the Greater Moncton Club. Colin McQuade, Lindsay Laltoo, and Aaron Sellers. We go in-depth talking about everything Greater Moncton Running Club. We go over events they have created and take part in, all at a low cost to the participants, an excellent idea for everyone these days. We have so much to discuss in this episode that we cut it into two episodes to get everything in. Such as the Boston Marathon, great job Colin and everyone from our region that went. We discussed the GMRC and the team they will be sending to the Cabot Trail Relay this year, sounds like a ton of fun. The Greater Moncton Running Club helps bring all our running communities together, no one is left behind, and a great time out with friends. Maybe you want to give them a try and see for yourself. Don't forget the conclusion next week.

The marathon of a lifetime in Antarctica - With Dr. Bob Forbes #159

The marathon of a lifetime in Antarctica - With Dr. Bob Forbes #159

Dr. Bob Forbes is back on our show this week, what he did is so amazing and cool we couldn't wait. Dr. Bob ran a marathon in Antarctica, meaning he has run a marathon on all 7 continents. The best part is we talk all about it, so few people have thought about doing what Dr. Bob did. Bob and his wife took a boat ride to Antarctica and away he went. We hear about the weather, what it was like getting there, the terrain, and much more. We chat about Bob and his Boston marathon runs and the one coming up on April 15th. If you have ever thought about what it might be like to run in a very faraway place then this episode is for you. It has been 100 episodes since Bob was last on, you can bet we will not wait as long next time.

Running is kind of addictive - With Carolane Pitre # 158

Running is kind of addictive - With Carolane Pitre # 158

What a fantastic talk we had with Carolane Pitre. Originally from Quebec and now living in Halifax, this young lady has been through a lot and will not give up. Her determination, drive, and personality will not allow her to stop. The one time she did haunted her so much that she had to duplicate the event to make amends. Running, swimming and biking keep Carolane motivated, put all three together and it's a dream come true. We asked Carolane about her cycling accident and how long it took to recover. Carolane was back on the bike as soon as she was physically able. As always on Motivate to Move, it's wonderful to see people motivated to keep on moving and not let anything get in their way. Great job Carolane, we can't wait to see what is next for you.

We Believe and Empowered to Ride - With Dan and Caleb Foote and Wyatt Macquarrie-milco #157

We Believe and Empowered to Ride - With Dan and Caleb Foote and Wyatt Macquarrie-milco #157

We had a wonderful interview with all three of our guests Dan Foote his son Caleb Foote and one of their instructors Wyatt Macquarrie-milco. The charity We Believe last held in 2023 in Saint John brought over 8 thousand educators, students, and speakers together simultaneously. The message was simple, encouraging youth to be the Change. Some of the issues on the table were mental and physical health, volunteering, bullying, self-worth, and how each of us can better the world. This event was live streamed all over the world and 2025 will be even bigger and better. Tickets for the event are free and all the links will be below in the notes so check it out.
Empowered to Ride is another program, instructors Caleb Foote and his good friend Wyatt are helping kids get on donated and bought mountain bikes and go riding through the trails. Inspiring our kids to stay active and get outdoors. Now they have 10 bikes and the demand for children taking this course is high so why don't we help these guys get more bikes to help more kids? links are below. This is a great story and one that we hope others will hear and support. Invest in our kid's future.

Speaking with the specialist - With Graham Black #156

Speaking with the specialist - With Graham Black #156

Tonight our very special guest is Graham Black, a native of Montreal who has lived in Moncton for the past 24 years. Graduated from Concordia University, with a degree in Sports Medicine as a Certified Athletic Therapist and Strength and Conditioning Specialist with over 25 years of experience in both fields. Graham is also the athletic Therapist for our Moncton Wildcats and is currently Co-owner of Sportmed Max in Dieppe. A former guest that we enjoy having on, Michael Roy, suggested making an appointment to see Graham and I am very glad I did. We discuss the difference between a Physiotherapist and an Athletic Therapist and some of the common injuries that Graham sees. Graham surprises us with something he is seeing more often, I didn't have this on my radar at all but makes sense when you think about things today. When Graham isn't seeing people at his clinic he is hard at work with the Moncton Wildcats, Go cats go! Winning the Memorial Cup is always the goal and maybe this year that will happen. We had an amazing discussion and Graham is so good at telling stories, especially about when he needed a suit at the last minute to be hired for the Wildcats job.
I enjoyed my time at Sportmed Max Physiotherapy and I wanted to get the phone number out there for anyone who could use any of the services that they provide, links below. We hope everyone who tunes in has a wonderful day and stays safe and injury-free.
