Episode 845: The Isle Of Man TT Troubles

The Isle of Man TT has been and gone for another year! This year is one that will stick in our minds for years to come but unfortunately not for the right reasons. The spirits were damper than the weather after two fatalities and a number of injuries. Tributes paid to Dan Ingham and Alan Oversby sadly lost their lives doing what they love. We had serious injuries for Maria Costello, Shaun Parker, Ryan and Callum Crowe, Jamie Cringle, Erno Kostamo and lucky boy Michael Evans walked away from two big crashes. Our thoughts and well wishes go to all of those involved. The crashes in the sidecars saw the competition suspended for the remainder, meaning no more sidecar action. When the motorcycle racing was allowed to get going, two men stood above the rest, Michael Dunlop increasing his tally and Dean Harrison getting those ever elusive wins. Some records broken, along with some hearts. The island was wetter than an otters pocket, which meant we lost a lot of racing to the natural elements as well as to the crashes. All in all, a dark and damp TT race week came and went as fast as Dean Harrison on that Honda.  A number of Gofundme pages were set up for those lost and injured, so if you can, please donate to these heroes: https://www.gofundme.com/f/dan-inghams-family https://www.gofundme.com/f/maria-costello-mbe-road-to-recovery https://www.gofundme.com/f/shaun-parker-road-to-recovery https://www.gofundme.com/f/pvaaa-help-get-jamie-back-on-his-feet   Thank you for listening to the podcasts, new things are coming soon, a new website, merch, blogs and much more.
