    Happy and Safe July 4th weekend. Happy Birthday Americas! 250th. "That's All Right" was recorded by Elvis Presley on July 5, 1954, and released on July 19, 1954, as his debut single on Sun Records. This singular track is universally regarded as one of the most important recordings in human history, widely cited as the official birth of rock 'n' roll. The Accidental Late-Night Jam Session The historic track was never actually planned. Sun Records founder Sam Phillips had brought Elvis into the Memphis studio alongside local session musicians Scotty Moore (guitar) and Bill Black (slap bass) to try and cut a sweet, commercial country ballad.
