As a parent—and with my own son hurtling towards school age—I understand what it is like to look at the education system from the other side of the playground gates. When your child, particularly one with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), is transitioning into Primary school, ensuring the setting is absolutely ready for them is vital. Sitting in those tiny chairs opposite the new Reception teacher and SENDCo can feel overwhelming, but remember: you are the expert on your child.
