Not Just Reading Off a Script: Museum Education in Context

Not Just Reading Off a Script: Museum Education in Context

Do museum facilitators simply read off a script, or talk freely about an artwork in front of a group of visitors? Apparently not.

In this episode, trainer and facilitator for the Museum-based Learning programme at the National Gallery Singapore, Ms Nicola Choo (National Institute of Education) shares how she works with the museum to train museum facilitators to engage in dialogues with students. She explains how the art of facilitation runs deep into the understanding of children's stages of development, and what are some mindset shifts that are needed to be an effective facilitator.

Listen in to Nicola as she also shares some interesting responses from students she had encountered!
