In a small Tennessee town, a local serial killer was caught by the most unlikely investigators: A group of high school students, led by their teacher, Alex Campbell. Throughout the course of one school semester, the class pieced together a 30-year-old mystery and identified the killer behind at least six brutal murders. Shockingly, while the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations publicly agrees with their theory, no charges have been filed against the murderer. While some sleuthing students already have graduated, they, along with a fresh crop of current high schoolers, still want to finish the assignment, once and for all.

I enjoyed this podcast. It’s wonderful that the kids were so dedicated to this project. I hope that Marley and Riley will consider careers in law enforcement.

I enjoyed this show. Very proud of the students and the hard work that was put into trying to solve these murders. I believe the TBI doesn’t want to admit that a bunch of students and podcasters put in more work than they did on these cases. Afraid it will make them look bad. I do have a couple of issues that keep this one from a perfect score. Like other listeners, I definitely feel like some of the content was stretched a bit to get fifteen episodes. Also, the bombshell about the brother at the end of “The Final Exam” appears to be a road to nowhere. I skipped the XQ commercial and went straight to the last episode only to get no update on said bombshell. Then went back and listened to the XQ commercial, thinking that there might be an update there. Unfortunately, no update there either. Overall, though, good show, enjoyable listen, and excellent work by the students.
