    Retirement Done Right: Brian Whicher's First Year as a MFCC Member

    Welcome to a very special winter version of the My Fishing Cape Cod Podcast presented by Cape & Islands Mitsubishi! In this podcast, we are joined by MFCC Member, Brian Whicher. After recently retiring, Brian joined My Fishing Cape Cod in 2024 as a rookie member! However, it did not take him long to get into the swing of things utilizing all MFCC has to offer on his way to a successful season. Brian was able to land lots of striped bass from the Scusset Beach jetty off the East End of the Cape Cod Canal. Despite the canal being slower than usual this year, Brian utilized the MFCC Podcast and Forum to try different lures and techniques. Brian also utilized the MFCC Group Trip opportunities on three different occasions and had memorable outings that made his season! Captain Tyler Putney of Flatliner Charters enabled Brian to successfully target Black Sea Bass in the Spring and Striped Bass and Bonito in the late summer. In addition, Brian chartered with Captain Willy Hatch of Machaca Charters and was able to land a recreational Blue Fin Tuna, Cod, and Pollock all in one trip!

    October 27th Tautog, Striper, Tuna, Cod & Haddock Report with Bruno Demir

    Welcome to our final 2024 edition of the My Fishing Cape Cod Podcast presented by Cape & Islands Mitsubishi! In our last podcast of the season, we welcome proud MFCC member Bruno Demir into the show for a detailed report on a multitude of species being caught in the waters off Cape Cod. Bruno begins with the red hot Tautog bite happening right now off the south side of Cape Cod and into the sounds. Tog are also being successfully targeted inside Cape Cod Bay and Buzzards Bay as well. Bruno provides information on how to properly situate your boat, create a chum slick, and catch keeper size Tog! This podcast also gives a Striped Bass report from Monomoy, Cod & Haddock report from deeper waters east of Chatham, and Blue Fin Tuna which are being spotted very close to shore in less than 50 feet of water!

    October 19th South Side Report with Amy Wrightson of Sports Port

    Welcome to another edition of the My Fishing Cape Cod Podcast presented by Cape & Islands Mitsubishi! In this episode, we are joined by Amy Wrightson of Sports Port in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Amy gives us encouraging news on the Striped Bass bite from the beaches off the south side of Cape Cod. There are solid bass being caught especially at the mouths of rivers and estuaries. Some of her customers are also having excellent catch rates on the fly rod off the south side. This podcast also discusses the very productive Tautog fishery happening on Cape this October. As of October 15th, the limit has increased to 5 fish per angler and Amy provides some areas both from shore and by boat on where these fish are being caught.

    October 12th Falmouth and Vineyard Sound Report with Evan Eastman

    Welcome to another Fall Run edition of the My Fishing Cape Cod Podcast presented by Cape & Islands Mitsubishi! In this episode, our featured guest is Evan Eastman of Eastman's Sport & Tackle in Falmouth, Massachusetts. Evan provides a detailed report on large schools of False Albacore still roaming the waters off Falmouth and the Elizabeth Islands. They appear to be feeding on larger peanut bunker which should make the Albies a tad easier to target in the coming days. This podcast also focuses on a very productive Striped Bass surfcasting bite off the Falmouth beaches and salt ponds. Evan gives some lures and tides that have been producing slot and above slot fish from the beach. We also touch on a great Tautog bite and some recreational Blue Fin Tuna being taken to the south.

    Welcome to another Fall Run edition of the My Fishing Cape Cod Podcast presented by Cape & Islands Mitsubishi! In this episode, we are joined by AJ Coots of Red Top Sporting Goods in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. AJ gives a detailed Cape Cod Canal fishing report featuring Striped Bass, Bonito, and Tautog. The fishing in the canal has picked up this week and also been accompanied by pleasant weather conditions to fish in. The east end of the canal has been featuring schools of larger above slot size Striped Bass and solid Bonito feeds as well. This podcast also discusses optimal tides to fish the canal heading into the weekend and next week, the Tuna fishery which has reopened commercially, and the funny fish bite in Buzzards Bay and Elizabeth Islands.

Amy provides detailed reports from the past two days concerning funny fish off the south side. There are plentiful amounts of Bonito and False Albacore off the south side and Elizabeth Islands. The Albacore have been finicky as of late as they continue to feed on small bait. This podcast also discusses the best baits and tactics to target finicky funny fish, lures producing well from shore for fall run Striped Bass and Blue Fish, and a variety of other species!

    Welcome to a special "Super Moon" edition of the My Fishing Cape Cod Podcast presented by Cape & Islands Mitsubishi! In this episode, we are joined by AJ Coots of Red Top Sporting Goods in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. AJ provides a detailed Cape Cod Canal fishing report centered around the September full moon, also known as the "Super Moon", which is set for tomorrow night. Striped Bass, Blue Fish, and Bonito have been readily available in the canal as the moon has approached. This podcast will provide optimal moon tides to fish the canal, discuss the change in wind direction later this week that could further escalate the fall migration, and give detailed information on which lures should produce the best during these moon tides.

In this episode, we are joined by MFCC member Bruno Demir live from the Tuna grounds aboard his beautiful downeast boat, The Gaviota. Bruno gives a live Blue Fin Tuna fishing report from his morning out east of Chatham. He also chronicles an extremely productive overnight trip he recently had south of the islands where he successfully trolled for Blue Fin and targeted Mahi-Mahi. This podcast will also discuss which troll bars are producing for recreational Blue Fina, where the giant Blue Fin are gorging on Mackerel, and where you can also find some great Cod and Pollock for the table!
