Katy sits down with Nutrition Expert (and Sister in Law!) Cheri Stoka. Cheri was a D1 College Athlete as an All American Soccer Player for the University of Wisconsin. After college she played pro in Chicago and then shifted into studying how the body actually functions. As Chief Wellness Officer of her own successful brand of clinics (Weighless MD) Cheri's expertise extends beyond fitness into the functions and complexity of our unique human bodies. This episode starts slow, so FF or bear with us a few minutes to hear a wealth of knowledge that will help you to learn more about your own body. Highlights include learning about how our body metabolizes alcohol and the effect on our liver, why taking time between meals is important, and learning about the blood brain barrier. The last 15 minutes is a lesson in human anatomy and physiology (in a good way) explaining the process of consumption and digestion. If you know someone who could benefit from this health knowledge, please share with them. We really appreciate you taking the time out to think of others and give us exposure to those who may benefit!

An Awakening on healthy living
This show encourages healthy habits without judging and gives us fundamental information that may have been forgotten or never learned. My biggest take away is how quickly alcohol goes into bloodstream because it’s water and fat soluble and the strain it puts on the liver and damage it causes the brain. One I had forgotten is CHEW your food well because large pieces of protein can trigger inflammation in the stomach and hinders good digestion.
Entertaining and inspiring
I love the stories in this podcast. Katy’s interviews are entertaining and I’m always excited for a new episode.
Motivating Show
I always listen to this show on my way to work. Inspiring!
