    2012-ish

    2012-ish

This week on My Little Underground, we're taking a trip back to 2012! I talk up some of my favorite releases turning ten this year to see how well they have aged! Listen for my thoughts on Killer Mike's 'R.A.P. Music'; which was the prelude to Run The Jewels, Jack White's 'Blunderbuss'; his first solo project outside of The White Stripes, The Dead Weather, and The Raconteurs, Santigold's genre bending 'Master of My Make Believe', Kendrick Lamar's cinematic 'Good Kid, m.A.A.d City', Ty Segall's psychedelic 'Twins', Fiona Apple's minimal and creative 'Idler Wheel', and more!

    Dummy The Third

    Dummy The Third

This week on My Little Underground, Joe Trainor of Dummy returns to the show for the third time to talk up the band joining the Sub Pop singles club with two new singles, "Mono Retriever" and "Pepsi Vacuum". Dummy is also apart of a Bandcamp compilation, 'Through The Soil II" which supports both The Trevor Project and The National Network of Abortion Funds. Look out for Dummy this summer as they come through your neighborhood with Horsegirl and Lifeguard!

    Midterms 2022 Part Two: Albums

    Midterms 2022 Part Two: Albums

Midterms continue this week on My Little Underground! Conor Rooney returns for our annual conversation of our favorite full length albums from January to June. Conor was really into the releases from Soul Glo (as did I), Angel Olsen, William Basinski & Janek Schaefer, Alabaster dePlume, and Spoon. As for myself, I talk up long players from Ravyn Lenae, Czarface, Jeanines, Combo Chimbita, and Benny The Butcher. I also get Conor's thoughts on the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Perfume Genius collaboration and he gets my opinion of the strange but understandable rollout of the new Black Star album.

Midterms 2022 Part One: Singles and EPs

Its June on My Little Underground! You know what that means. Its time for Midterms! This week I bring out my red pen to talk up some of my favorite singles and EPs of the first six months of 2022. Listen as I talk up great singles from Velvet Vision, Doss, and Kelly Moonstone. The first two quarters of the year was also good for some good remix EPs from Bernice and Spoon. I also discuss the similarities between the great extended plays of Mo Dotti and Buster Wolf! Next week, it's all about the LPs!
