Forgiving Yourself For Your Addiction & Being Inspirational

Something on your mind? Send Matt a text here!  In this solo episode of My Sober Addiction it feels kinda old school. Not to worry, though, the episodes with Clive and Dom are still on. In this episode I want to challenge you to answer a few questions to yourself. For example, have you forgiven yourself for allowing addiction int your life? When we get sober we go through a lot mentally and spiritually but it seems that most of us addicts in recovery skip over the part where we must forgive ourselves. We also must forgive the circumstances that led to us becoming dependent on a substance just to cope with life in the first place.  That’s a tough one, accepting that ugly side of ourselves and allowing it to be. If we are to move past addiction and into a sober lifestyle and be able to share our stories and be inspirational for other addicts who are still suffering but ready to find their way into recovery and out of the madness then we must do these things.  Don’t forget to join on the WhatsApp group where we encourage each other and have a safe place to just hang out and be ourselves. Clive, Dom and I along with others have some lively and often fun times there and will be happy to welcome you to the group.  Much love and respect! What Would Your Future Self Thank You For? With Clive and Dom

Something on your mind? Send Matt a text here!  In this episode of My Sober Addiction, Clive and Dom are back for another lively chat. With Clive’s deep research and Dom’s quick wit, there is never a dull moment. So, isn’t it nice that, now that we are sober a free from addiction, we can be there for the people in our lives? Usually these are people are the ones who were there for us when we were battling active addiction and support our recovery now that we are living a sober lifestyle. It just feels good to be able to help people when they call rather than making excuses for why we can’t make it. The truth. Is, we couldn’t because addiction had us constantly chasing drugs, but of course we never would admit it at that time.  We finish up by discussing how important it is to things today that our future selves would thank us for. It started with going through withdrawals and resisting relapse and now it is building a life. It’s not always easy but will your future self thank you for doing it? If so, then do it!
