Alix Brown sits with a cup of coffee and talks about motherhood, womanhood, and her interest in names.
As the Name Mentor™ she has helped thousands of women settle the struggle to find a name, but more importantly, find peace in that name. Alix spends her time working to uplift women in the sometimes subtle ways their power gets taken from them and to empower them to realize they have a voice.
Episode 5: Pocahontas and George Eliot
Reclaiming our names and our heritage as people, especially the women in our history who kept their heart a secret.
Episode 4: We Can't Agree
In this episode, we're talking about when couple can't agree on what to name their baby. How do you navigate troubled waters, different minds, and what does it mean to compromise? I brought my husband, Josiah Brown, as my special guest, as I felt it would be a more complete conversation to have both perspectives.
Episode 3: A Swift Kick in the Pants
Coughing, Taylor Swift, and Lucy Maud Montgomery.
Episode 2: Weird Names, Save Yourself!
Talking my favorite celebrity baby names, putting up our dukes, and not failing our kids.

Left me breathless
I stumbled on Alix’s IG through some very amazing people I follow. Then I found her podcast and I thought I would give it a try. I didn’t know what I was expecting, but all I can say is wow. Her explanation of why naming your child a Jr or 3rd is a great thing and not something we just settle for was incredible. We are in charge of changing the perception of that name. We make it our own. I too wish I had my grandmother’s name attached to me so I can remember her every moment when my name is said. I can’t wait to listen more. Thank you Alix for you and I can’t wait to drink coffee with you again!
