    #033 - Consistently Consistant

    #033 - Consistently Consistant

Consistency is a drug that amplifies what it is applied to.

Consistency will not guarantee success. But you can’t be successful without consistency.

Consistency is the art of doing something regularly and without fail. It’s about showing up, day in and day out, even when motivation wanes and obstacles arise.

    1. Consistency breeds discipline

    2. Consistency builds momentum

    3. Consistency keeps setbacks in perspective

Galatians 6:9 – "Let us not become weary in doing good..."

Sometimes, doing good can be tiring. But this verse reminds us to keep going. Don’t give up!

#032 - 3 Things To Add This Year

#032 - 3 Things To Add This Year

Here are three things to add to your life to make this year better than last year!

    1. A Gratitude Habit - Letters, texts, hugs, prayers, or anything to remind yourself to be grateful for everything in your life.

    2. Recoup Time - Not vacation or retreat. This is a specific time to be at your best when you return. Take time to do what you need to to be at your best.
    - Divert Daily
    - Withdraw Weekly
    - Abandon Annually

    3. GSD List - Write down three things you want to get done for the next day. Then, when you wake up, you can ruthlessly go after these three top priorities. Create and keep to a Get Stuff Done List!

#031 - 3 Things To Get Rid Of This Year

#031 - 3 Things To Get Rid Of This Year

It's good to go through a descalification process. To get rid of the things that are getting in the way. If we want to make today great, we must make room for better things.

Reflect on your year. What are things that will benefit you to lose?

    1. Clutter

Clutter helps my mind be distracted. If I want to be focused, then I cannot be distracted.

“Simplicity is not the absence of clutter, that’s a consequence of simplicity. Simplicity is somehow essentially describing the purpose and place of an object and product. The absence of clutter is just a clutter-free product. That’s not simple.”— Jonathan Ive

    2. Bad Habits

There is a version of each of us that is not thrilled with what we are doing. We know it’s a bad habit or one that we are not proud of, but we keep doing it because the toxicity has not reared its ugly head yet.

“We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.”― Jim Rohn

    3. Unproductive Relationships

There are people in our lives who cannot or will not grow with you into the person you want to be, and God is calling you to be. Surround yourself with people who are pushing you to be the better version of yourself, not those who are indifferent to your success, values, goals, or character.

“Don’t trade your self-respect for someone elses. It’s easy to lose theirs and hard to get yours back.”

    Alex Hormozi

#030 - 6 Times to Be Quiet (and what to do instead)

#030 - 6 Times to Be Quiet (and what to do instead)

Welcome to the Nate Echos Podcast!

Our words can be used for good, but a lot of times, I end up sticking my foot in my mouth because I didn't know when to be quiet. Here are 6 times you should be quiet

    1. When everyone is talking over each other
We all feel like we are going to be the voice of reason that is going to add to the conversation or get everyone to shut up and be respectful.
    - Your actions will do more than your words ever will.
    - Remove yourself from the situation

    2. When someone will not let you finish
    - The interrupter - may not be all bad.
    - Ask them a question about their life that you genially want to know the answer to (not passive-aggressive)

    3. When someone is trying to express their feelings
    - Listen
    - We want to sympathize, but that never works. Just let them express their emotions.

    4. When you are experiencing a beautiful Moment
    - Take it in - Mental Image - The office Jim & Pam - Tattoo Tayler
    - We conflate beautiful moments with Instagramable moments.

    5. When you are searching for an answer
    - Don’t reach for your device. Sit with the problem in your head.
    - It’s good for you and good for your brain
    - When it is difficult or easy, our reflex is to have it solved rather than try to solve it.
    - Pride in the process with some answers.

    6. When you are praying
    - Leave a longer moment of silence before you say Amen.
    - Conversation with God, not a Christmas list of things you want God to do.

    #029 - 4 Ways to Miss God's Presence

    #029 - 4 Ways to Miss God's Presence

Have you ever wanted Joshua 1:9 to be true in your life? "This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

We often miss what is right in front of us. God's presence isn't conditional upon our recognition of it. Here are 4 ways we can easily miss God's presence in our life.

    1) Be Unavailable.

Even though we are aware of our availability, we still need to be aware of our UNAVAILABILITY.

    2) Be Rushed

"On our part, we need to turn away from taking the Bible merely as a book of ethics and instead come to The Word for nourishment" - Witness Lee.

    3) Be Autonomous

Imagine how many God moments we have missed when we try to solve a problem that God wanted to use to display his presence.

    4) Be Forgetful

    Reinforce your memories with memorials.

    #28 Sickness or Disease

    #28 Sickness or Disease

Are you sick, or is there something more going on? Can you trust yourself to lead yourself?

Disease is a pathological process, a deviation from a biological norm. A disease requires treatment to get better.

Sickness is a less serious health condition that does not require treatment. Sickness can be caused by various things, from the flu to the common cold, and usually lasts for a specific period and then goes away on its own.

The main difference between disease and sickness is that disease requires treatment to get better, while sickness does not.

"Self-leadership is the greatest leadership challenge any of us face. But self-leadership is a critical component to our success in every arena of life. You'll never be a leader worth following if you don't lead yourself well. And while that's apparent if you have an official organizational leadership role, it should be equally apparent if you're a parent." Excerpt From Better Decisions, Fewer Regrets Andy Stanley

Have you ever treated the symptoms of your life like a disease when they were actually a sickness or vice versa?

Who are the people in your life you can get diagnosed with?

Who are the people in your life that will tell you if the symptoms of bitterness, anger, frustration, stress, depression, tiredness, and laziness are just a sickness due to your surroundings and will get better when the season is over or if it is an underlying condition that needs treatment?

If we are going to be good leaders, we need people around us who will make us better, not just tell us what we want to hear.

Here are a few questions for you.
What is a symptom in your life you don't like?
How long has that symptom been hanging around?
Have you been treating a symptom as a disease or a disease as a symptom?
Do you really want to get better?

Thanks for tuning in, and I'd appreciate it if you hit the subscribe button or share this episode with someone. As always, you can follow for more on social media.
