    Episode 261: the medicine

    Episode 261: the medicine

Today, on the 20th of February 2020, thousands of people will “come out” on social media worldwide with their stories of personal healing and transformation using the hashtag #ThankYouPlantMedicine. To celebrate this occasion we are going to have not one but two guests on the podcast.
First up is director Farzin Toussi who will talk about his documentary The Medicine. It’s a documentary about Amazonian shamanism, introducing Taita Juanito Guerillmo Chindoy Chindoy, both a teacher and student of the sacred plant medicine. As Ayahuasca gains popularity in the West, the film explores the science as well as the lore behind the plant and why it is used to heal. Check it out at themedicinedocumentary.com.
Our second guest is Thomas B. Roberts, Ph.D. who is professor emeritus at Northern Illinois University and a former visiting scientist at Johns Hopkins. The Psychedelic Future of the Mind and Mindapps are two of his books.

One of the best all around podcasts!

I listen to A Lot of podcasts, especially ones about psychedelics, etc.
This is one of my favorites because it’s different from the rest, and Alex covers other related topics, not discussed anywhere else.
Very well done, with captivating guests and ideas.
Thank you Alex! You Rock! Keep it up 👍🏻

Coming out?

comparing psychedelic use to coming out as gay or being a different race is cringe. I get there’s a stigma & misinformation around psychedelics but there aren’t hate crimes & institutional violence against psychedelic users lol.

I do enjoy this podcast though

Wonderful companion when doing mindless work

Love this Alex fellow, he has the same name as me, but that’s not the only reason... I was getting real tired of Zack Leary saying “you know” and “like” all the time on the maps podcast, and also talking over his guests, what a pain. Anyway that’s enough complaining about another podcast, apologies. Great work, love the variety, keep it up don’t stop.
