Nanea provides such great perspectives. I love her centering of Indigeneity- listening to her is a wonderful chance to learn, and feels like talking to a friend.

I appreciate Nanea’s viewpoint about expressing where you are from - to be proud of where you were born and raised. I am a proud kanaka maoli that was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. I hear so many people say they’re from Hawai’i only to find out that they were born and raised somewhere else. Just be truthful because some of us love hearing about other cultures.
