Welcome to Nella. This is a podcast about understanding ourselves more deeply. Through honest conversations, personal stories and thought-provoking guests, we'll explore the ideas that shape our lives - from ADHD and creativity to music, ambition, relationships, health and the pursuit of meaningful work. I'm Nella, an Irish singer-songwriter, featured solo vocalist on World of Warcraft, founder of ADHDiversity, and executive coach to founders, leaders, creatives and high performers. My work has always been driven by one question: What becomes possible when we truly understand ourselves? I don't believe life is about having all the answers. I think it's about asking better questions, staying curious, and building a life that's deeply aligned with who we are. If you've ever felt different, driven, misunderstood, or simply curious about what makes people thrive, you're in the right place. Because the quality of your life is shaped by the quality of your understanding of yourself. Welcome. I'm glad you're here. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

What if we're exactly where we are meant to be?

Have you ever felt like you're behind? Like life isn't happening quickly enough. Like you've missed your chance. Like everyone else seems to know where they're going while you're still trying to figure it out. In this episode, I share a deeply personal reflection on self-trust, difficult chapters, manifestation, intuition, ADHD, motherhood, music, and the lessons that only make sense in hindsight. From becoming a mother at 15, to building a music career, to coaching hundreds of people with ADHD, I've noticed something surprising: I've never once been able to predict the most important things that were about to happen to me. We explore why so many of us struggle to trust ourselves, why we constantly look outside ourselves for answers, and whether the chapters we most want to escape are often the very chapters shaping who we're becoming. What if we're not behind? What if we're exactly where we're meant to be? 2. Radical Acceptance: The Skill That Changed My Life

Radical Acceptance: The Skill That Changed My Life

This week, I’m diving into one of the most powerful psychological tools I’ve ever learned - Radical Acceptance. After missing last week’s episode due to a sudden death in my family, I found myself returning to a DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) skill that has helped me through some of the most difficult periods of my life, from grief and heartbreak to career setbacks, uncertainty, and waiting years for major life changes. In this episode, I explore: • What Radical Acceptance actually is (and what it isn't) • Why acceptance is not the same as approval • The difference between pain and suffering • How resisting reality keeps us stuck • The concepts of willingness vs willfulness • Why ADHD brains often struggle with acceptance and certainty • How Radical Acceptance helped me navigate grief, relationships, career challenges, and life's unexpected detours • Practical ways to start using this skill in your own life Sometimes freedom doesn't come from changing the situation. It comes from accepting the reality of it and deciding how you want to move forward. If you've ever found yourself asking "Why did this happen?" or wishing reality were different, this episode is for you. Key Takeaways Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional. Acceptance is not approval. You can't change reality by refusing to accept it. Radical Acceptance is a practice, not a one-time decision. Letting go of resistance creates space for healing, growth, and clarity. #RadicalAcceptance #DBT #Singersongwriter #ADHD #MentalHealth #PersonalGrowth #EmotionalRegulation #NellaPodcast Work With Nella If you're a high-performing adult with ADHD and you'd like support with focus, emotional regulation, productivity, confidence, relationships, leadership, or creating a life that actually works for your brain, I'd love to help.
