Glenn Livingston, Ph.D. is a veteran psychologist and was the long time CEO of a multi-million dollar consulting firm which has serviced several Fortune 500 clients in the food industry. You may have seen his (or his company's) previous work, theories, and research in major periodicals like The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Sun Times, The Indiana Star Ledger, The NY Daily News, American Demographics, or any of the other major media outlets you see on this page. You may also have heard him on ABC, WGN, and/or CBS radio, or UPN TV. Disillusioned by what traditional psychology had to offer overweight and/or food obsessed individuals, Dr. Livingston spent several decades researching the nature of bingeing and overeating via work with his own patients AND a self-funded research program with more than 40,000 participants. Most important, however, was his own personal journey out of obesity and food prison to a normal, healthy weight and a much more lighthearted relationship with food. Dr. Livingston records full length coaching sessions and interviews with experts and distributes them herein.

Fasting, Intermittent Fasting, Binge Eating, and Extreme Rest

Fasting, Intermittent Fasting, Binge Eating, and Extreme Rest

This is an extremely in-depth, VERY intriguing conversation between myself and Doug Graham (author of the 80-10-10 Diet) about the benefits of fasting, intermittent fasting, and extreme rest vs. the risks of increasing likelihood of disordered eating in the aftermath of these protocols. We largely disagreed up front, but when the source of our conflicting advice was placed in context we found we agreed virtually 100%. Listen, learn, and enjoy!NOTE: Both Doug and I strongly recommend any type of fasting longer than 12 hours should never be attempted without medical supervision, especially for people who struggle with binge eating, anorexia, bulimia, and/or any other eating disorder.

Perfect when you need a boost!

I’ve found this podcast SO helpful when I’m feeling stuck or need extra motivation. It’s so wonderful that Glenn offers this. Thank you, Glenn!

Just no

Using the name “Pig” for your inner binge self, and putting foods on the never-eat-again list, make this podcast a perfect recipe for those with disordered eating to move fully into eating disorder. Bizarre to say the least - completely irresponsible, for certain.

Pretends to be food agnostic but actually pushes veganism

Livingston disparages low carb even when his interviewees have been prescribed them bu doctors to control diabetes. He affects a “neutral” stance but never asks his vegan guests with whom he agrees to see a registered dietician. Dishonest and dangerous (promoting veganism for children and pregnant women, and also for people with mental/mood challenges).
