What happens when you're put on the spot and don't know the answer? In this week's Monday Mojo, Coach John Perry shares the hilarious story of a professor and his longtime limo driver who decide to switch places before a speaking engagement. The driver delivers the professor's presentation perfectly—until someone in the audience asks a question he could never have prepared for. What happens next is funny, but it also provides a powerful lesson about leadership. Great leaders prepare before opportunity arrives, stay composed when pressure hits, and are secure enough to lean on people who know more than they do. Leadership isn't having every answer. Sometimes it's having the wisdom to know who does. Prepare. Stay calm. Use your people. And Never Stop Getting Better. Three Key Takeaways 1. Preparation creates opportunity. The limo driver could give the speech because he'd spent years listening and learning when nobody knew he was preparing. Today's preparation may be getting you ready for an opportunity you can't see yet. 2. Composure matters under pressure. Anybody can look confident when everything goes according to plan. Leadership shows up when the question comes that you weren't expecting. Pause. Think. Respond—don't react. 3. You don't have to be the smartest person in the room. Great leaders don't pretend to know everything. They're confident enough to surround themselves with talented people and humble enough to let those people answer when they know more.

What if I told you one of the greatest athletes in history lost nearly half the time? In his 2024 commencement speech, Roger Federer shared a statistic that surprised the world. Despite winning 20 Grand Slam titles, 103 ATP singles championships, and spending 237 consecutive weeks as the No. 1 player in the world, Federer won only 54% of the points he played during his career. Just 54%. That means he lost 46% of the points—and still became one of the greatest tennis players of all time. The lesson? Success isn't about winning every point. It's about responding the right way after you lose one. In this Monday Mojo, Coach Perry explores why so many people quit after a setback, how champions think differently, and how the E + R = O framework helps you keep moving forward when life doesn't go according to plan. If you're facing disappointment, adversity, or simply need a reminder to stay in the fight, this episode is for you. In This Episode You'll Learn: Why perfection is the enemy of progress. The powerful lesson behind Roger Federer's "54% Rule." Why losing a point doesn't mean you've lost the match. How elite performers recover faster than everyone else. How to apply E + R = O (Event + Response = Outcome) in everyday life. Practical ways to stay focused on the next play when adversity strikes. Remember: You don't have to win every point. You just have to keep playing the next one. Never Stop Getting Better.
