Fantasy Premier League - A commentary on our competitive Staff and Learners League!

In this episode of the school podcast, we dive into the world of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) with a lively roundtable of teachers and students who share a passion for football — both on and off the pitch. We kick things off by exploring what sparked their love for football, hearing stories that range from childhood memories to family traditions and iconic matches. The conversation then shifts to the addictive world of FPL — how and when our guests got hooked, and what keeps them coming back each season. We learn about everyone’s favourite football teams (some choices may surprise you!) before things get emotional with reflections on their best and worst moments in FPL — expect tales of tactical brilliance, heartbreaking benchings, and captaincy blunders. As the current season heats up, our guests give us the inside scoop on how their teams are performing, who’s flying, and who’s flopping. For those just starting out, there are top tips and tricks for building a successful FPL team — from choosing your captain wisely to playing the long game with your chips. Special guest Mr Massey shares his thoughts on the importance of mini-leagues in the workplace — how a little friendly competition can build community and keep the conversation lively in the staffroom. We round off the episode with some fun predictions, as each guest picks an unusual player they'd consider bringing in and why, along with a few key players they’re watching to see if they'll become the next big FPL must-have. Whether you're a seasoned FPL manager or just getting started, this episode is packed with insight, laughs, and fantasy football drama. Don't miss it! Questions, comments or suggestions?
