A Dramatic Evening with Melissa Archer

A DRAMATIC EVENING WITH MELISSA ARCHER A Next Generation Entertainment Soaps Special Event What an incredible evening with Melissa Archer. From Natalie Buchanan to Serena Mason. From Llanview to Salem. From faith to frivolity. From daytime television to a whole new chapter as a creator, developer and entrepreneur. Melissa Archer joined the Next Generation Entertainment Soaps family for an evening that became so much more than a walk down soap opera memory lane. Melissa was open, candid, vulnerable, funny and refreshingly honest as she revisited the characters, stories and people who helped shape more than two decades of her life and career. And right out of the box, Anthony threw the hosting microphone to Maryland. Cohost Candice took over so we could talk about one of Melissa’s newest projects, Haven Falls, a brand new audio drama with its first seven episodes available now. Melissa plays a lawyer in the series whose path has not quite crossed with Candice’s character yet, the self proclaimed saint of Haven Falls. Yet. We will definitely be listening. Then, of course, we went back to Llanview. Melissa took us all the way back to that first scene opposite Erika Slezak, the legendary Victoria Lord, and reflected on the experience of stepping onto One Life to Live as Natalie. From there, the memories came quickly. We revisited some of Natalie’s biggest storylines, relationships and unforgettable moments. But what made the conversation particularly special was hearing Melissa look back at them from where she stands today. She shared her impressions of her own performances, talked about the actors who challenged and elevated her work and reflected on moments that look and feel different with the perspective that only time can provide. Then we traveled from Llanview to Salem and Serena Mason. And yes, we talked about Serena’s memorable demise. When the conversation turned to acting bucket lists, Melissa revealed that getting a great soap opera death scene had actually been on hers. Mission accomplished. We also looked ahead. Melissa shared a little about her upcoming movie, Awesome Gals, based on a true story that is both poignant and beautiful. It is another project we cannot wait to see. But this evening was never going to stay entirely on our television and movie screens. We talked about faith. We talked about life. We talked about change, creativity and what happens when one chapter of a career leads somewhere you might never have expected. Melissa, a self proclaimed dork, introduced us to another side of herself that some longtime soap fans may not know nearly as well. The digital creator. The developer. The entrepreneur. Melissa shared the excitement and passion she has discovered building websites, applications and digital tools. One of those creations is Invoiceabill, the back office for freelancers that Melissa created from her own experience and needs. But another part of our conversation really caught Anthony’s attention. Melissa shared some of her research into remapping and retraining the brain and introduced us to NeuroRewire, the app she created around those concepts. NeuroRewire is designed around the idea of rewiring and reframing thought patterns, helping users work with the brain to develop new mental pathways, perspectives and habits. Anthony was fascinated. In fact, he is diving into NeuroRewire today. We could try to explain Melissa’s work and the thinking behind the app here. But we are not going to. You need to hear Melissa explain it herself. Her excitement is infectious, her passion is unmistakable and hearing her describe this chapter of her life in her own words is one of our favorite parts of the conversation. And because this is Next Generation Entertainment Soaps, we also had to have a little fun. Anthony Corona led the conversation, joined live by cohosts David, Candice and Sue Ellen. Cohost Ashley had a prior commitment and could not join us live, but she made sure we had a fun collection of questions to ask Melissa on her behalf. Our audience got into the act too. Audrey wanted the truth about one of the great institutions of daytime television. The soap opera slap. What is the technique? How do actors make it look and sound so real? Has Melissa ever accidentally slapped someone too hard? And has anyone ever landed one on her a little harder than planned? Melissa walked us through it all. And yes, there is a technique. This conversation had a little bit of everything. Memories. Laughter. Faith. Honesty. Reflection. Soap opera history. Audio drama. Movies. Technology. Entrepreneurship. And a woman who may have spent years entertaining us on our television screens, but clearly has plenty more chapters to write. Whether you first knew Melissa Archer as Natalie Buchanan, discovered her as Serena Mason, are listening to her newest work in Haven Falls or are just discovering Melissa herself, this is a conversation worth spending some time with. Next Generation Entertainment Soaps From Summer Sizzle to Fall- Fallouts

NEXT GENERATION ENTERTAINMENT SOAPS FROM SUMMER SIZZLE TO FALL SWEEPS SHOW NOTES Summer may still be hanging on, but in daytime television, the temperature is already beginning to change. On Monday night, the Next Generation Entertainment Soaps crew gathered around the soap table to look back at what has been sizzling this summer and, more importantly, what may be waiting for us as we head toward fall sweeps and the final months of 2026. And we had an extra treat. Carolyn joined us with the tea from Los Angeles, and it was great to have our Daytime Queen back in the house with us. We covered all five remaining daytime dramas, with plenty of recaps, theories, spoilers, opinions, laughter, and a few predictions that could either make us look brilliant or come back to haunt us spectacularly. Anthony had General Hospital, where Drew wants revenge, Ava is setting traps, and Valentin, Carly, Jason, and Brennan continue moving pieces around the Port Charles chessboard. We looked at what is happening now and what some of these stories could be setting up for fall. David had The Bold and the Beautiful, where Steffy and Carter have some explaining to do, Ridge is caught in the fallout, and Will and Dylan continue getting closer while Katie is asking questions. Because nothing says Los Angeles fashion like romance, secrets, and somebody walking into exactly the wrong room. SUEELLENV had Beyond the Gates, where Bill and Hayley remain one very complicated pressure cooker while Chelsea, Alison, Andre, and the Dupree orbit continue serving up secrets, family drama, romance, and plenty of reasons to keep watching Fairmont Crest. Ashley had Days of Our Lives, where Johnny and Chanel face major family developments while Cat, EJ, Rolf, Marlena, and the returning Jack keep Salem doing what Salem does best. Making absolutely certain nobody can ever have a peaceful week. Candice had The Young and the Restless, where Matt Clark and Patty are stirring up Genoa City history while Victor, Phyllis, and Adam circle the action. And then there is Victoria and Kyle. A rivalry. A kiss. And approximately seven thousand ways this could become gloriously complicated. Throughout the show, we looked at the stories that truly sizzled this summer, the characters and couples who surprised us, and the stories that may have cooled off considerably more than the writers intended. Then we turned our attention toward fall. Which major fall sweeps stories are beginning to take shape? Which couples are headed for romance, disaster, or both? Which secrets are getting dangerously close to exploding? And which stories appear to be positioning themselves to carry us through the final months of 2026? We had theories. We had spoilers. We had opinions. And we had all the recaps, conversation, fun, and frivolity you have come to know and love from the Next Generation Entertainment Soaps crew. Join Anthony, David, SUEELLENV, Ashley, Candice, and Carolyn for another trip through Port Charles, Los Angeles, Fairmont Crest, Salem, and Genoa City. NGE Soaps WHo's Kid is this Anyway?

Next Generation Entertainment Soaps Who’s Kid is this Anyway This week we are opening the doors to one of daytime televisions favorite closets. You know the one. The closet where apparently every soap family has been hiding a fully grown child nobody knew existed. 🤩 Long lost children. Secret children. Children believed dead. Children given away. Children whose parents never knew they existed. And children who walk into town already knowing exactly who Mom or Dad is and carrying enough resentment to power an entire sweeps period. We are looking back at some of the greatest surprise children and family revelations in soap history. Anthony takes us to Port Charles and Carly Roberts arrival as the daughter Bobbie Spencer had given up for adoption. Carly knew exactly who Bobbie was. Bobbie had absolutely no idea Carly was her daughter. And Carly certainly did not come to town looking for a quiet mother daughter reunion. David heads to Pine Valley for Erica Kanes complicated history with Kendall Hart and one of the most controversial retcons in daytime history, Josh Madden. For decades, Ericas abortion was one of daytime televisions most significant stories. Then All My Children revealed that the abortion supposedly never happened and that Dr. Greg Madden had secretly transferred the fetus, resulting in Erica and Jeff Martins grown son Josh. Brilliant soap insanity or an unforgivable rewrite of television history? We have thoughts. Candice takes us to Genoa City for Claire Grace, the daughter Victoria Newman and Cole Howard believed they had lost decades earlier, and Mariah Copeland, who turned out to be more than a woman who looked exactly like Cassie. She was Cassies twin. And Sharons daughter. Because apparently even childbirth in Genoa City can come with missing paperwork. 🤩 Ashley takes us back to Springfield and Reva Shaynes surprise sons Dylan Lewis and Jonathan Randall. If you remember Tom Pelphreys Jonathan, you already know that particular family reunion did not arrive quietly. Sue heads to Llanview, where the Buchanan and Lord family trees practically required their own cartographers. Natalie. Jessica. Todd. Victor. Rex. Twins, secret parentage, switched identities and enough DNA revelations to keep Llanview laboratories operating around the clock. We also visit Bay City for Mac Corys surprise children Sandy Alexander and Paulina Cantrell, along with one of our favorite variations on the story. Lorna Devon and Felicia Gallant. Imagine discovering that the young woman who has become your enemy is actually your biological daughter. That is daytime television doing what daytime television does best. And of course Santa Barbara joined the family reunion. Cassandra Benedict was revealed as Minx Lockridges daughter, while Brick Wallace was eventually revealed as the biological son of Sophia Capwell and Lionel Lockridge after a baby switch. Because naturally there was a baby switch. It was Santa Barbara. 🤩 We bring the conversation back to todays soaps with Cody Bell and Mac Scorpio on General Hospital, Stefan DiMera and Stefano on Days of Our Lives, and the later revelation that Xander Cook Kiriakis was actually Victor Kiriakis son. But the bigger conversation is why these stories work. When does a long lost child deepen what we already know about a beloved character? When does a surprise relative become a brilliant revelation? When does it become a retcon? And when does rewriting history go too far? Which surprise child shocked you most? Which one did you love? Which one made absolutely no sense? And which current soap character probably has a fully grown child somewhere just waiting to walk through the door? After our roundtable, Anthony, David, Candice, Ashley, Sue and the Next Generation Entertainment Soaps crew turn to everything happening right now across daytime. The recaps. The breaking news. The casting shakeups. The returns. The exits. The spoilers. The stories making us cheer. The stories making us yell at our televisions. And of course the fan theories that sound completely ridiculous right up until the soaps prove us right. 🤩 You can find Next Generation Entertainment Soaps wherever you listen to podcasts. And join us on the Next Generation Entertainment Facebook page for soap news, original writings, fan interactions, conversations, and our in depth character and storyline breakdowns. You can also find Next Generation Entertainment Soaps at the home of the Sunday Edition family of podcasts and digital media content services. www.anthonycorona.com And if you have not listened yet, our recent conversations with John Lindstrom and Vincent Irizarry are waiting for you in the podcast feed. We also have a fabulous new interview coming in two weeks with someone who is currently getting quite a bit of attention on General Hospital. We are keeping that name tucked safely inside the soap opera vault for just a little longer. 🤩 Come for the long lost children. Stay for the secrets. Because in soaps, nobody is ever really gone, nobody is necessarily who they think they are, and somewhere out there somebody probably has a DNA test waiting to ruin Thanksgiving. And if you enjoy our conversations, interviews, writings and shows, please consider dropping a few coins into our tip jar. An Evening with Jon Lindstrom and our Emmy Conversation

Next Generation Entertainment Soaps. An Evening with Jon Lindstrom and Our Emmy Conversation  The podcast version of our live broadcast is now available wherever you enjoy your favorite podcasts. This week, we welcomed one of daytime television's most beloved storytellers. Actor. Author. Director. Producer. And one of the nicest people you could ever hope to spend an evening with. John Lindstrom joined us for a conversation filled with laughter, incredible memories, behind the scenes stories, and a genuine love for the art of daytime drama. We began by congratulating this year's Daytime Emmy nominees and winners before turning our attention to one of the biggest stories of the season. Beyond the Gates earning an extraordinary 15 Emmy nominations in its very first year. John shared his thoughts on what that recognition means for the cast, the creative team, and daytime television as a whole. From there, we took a journey through an amazing career that has spanned decades. John reflected on his time across Santa Barbara, As the World Turns, General Hospital, Port Charles, and now Beyond the Gates. He shared stories about lifelong friendships, unforgettable moments on set, and why playing Joey has become one of the most enjoyable experiences of his career. Of course, we could not resist asking one of our favorite questions. Who were John's favorite on screen kissers. His answer. Everyone. A diplomatic answer. Maybe. A true answer. Absolutely. The stories behind it made for one of the funniest moments of the night. John also took us back to the groundbreaking days of Port Charles and the creative risks that series embraced long before many others were willing to do the same. We laughed about Kevin and Mac dressing in drag with John J. York and revisited some of the wonderfully unpredictable storytelling that made Port Charles such a fan favorite. Beyond acting, we explored John's incredible work as an author. He discussed his Hollywood series of novels, including his newest release, Hollywood Payback, the creative process behind building that universe, and even gave us a glimpse into what readers can look forward to next. In our second hour, the conversation shifted to this year's Daytime Emmy Awards. Our panel broke down the nominations, celebrated the winners, debated the biggest surprises, discussed a few performances we felt deserved more recognition, and pulled back the curtain on how the Emmy submission process really works. We also explored what separates a good acting reel from a great one and made our predictions for who we believe could emerge as this year's winners and dark horse contenders. As always, the conversation was thoughtful, passionate, and just plain fun. A huge thank you to John Lindstrom for spending the evening with us and for reminding us why he has remained one of daytime's most respected performers for so many years. Thank you to David Salvagni, Candice Mack, Ashley Morgan, Sue ellen Mellow, and Carolyn Jansen for another fantastic night of conversation. Celebrating 50 Years of Marlena and Sizzling Summer Recaps and Previews

Tonight on Next Generation Entertainment Soaps. Fifty Years of Marlena and a Summer of Secrets Tonight, we are celebrating a true daytime television icon. 🎭❤️ For fifty years, Deidre Hall has brought Dr. Marlena Evans to life on Days of Our Lives, creating one of the most beloved and enduring characters in television history. At the top of tonight’s show, Anthony and co hosts David, Candice, Ashley, Sue Allen, and Carolyn will take a look back at the extraordinary life and legacy of Marlena Evans. From her unforgettable romance with Roman Brady and her epic love story with John Black, to her battles with Stefano DiMera and Kristen DiMera, Marlena has truly done it all. We will revisit some of the character’s most memorable moments, including possession by the devil, the Salem Serial Killer mystery, countless kidnappings and presumed deaths, and her evolution as a mother, grandmother, psychiatrist, wife, friend, and the emotional heart of Salem. Then it is time to turn our attention to all five of our favorite daytime dramas as every show is turning up the heat for a sizzling summer. ☀️🔥 On The Young and the Restless, Jack and Diane continue to navigate new challenges while the fallout from Victor’s latest power plays continues to ripple through Genoa City. Phyllis remains a wildcard, business battles are escalating, and alliances seem to be shifting by the day. David says, “The thing I love about The Young and the Restless right now is that nobody feels completely safe. Every conversation feels like it could become a corporate war or a family disaster.” On The Bold and the Beautiful, the battle lines between Katie and Brooke continue to be drawn. Meanwhile, RJ, Electra, and Dylan find themselves caught up in romance, family expectations, and enough drama to keep Los Angeles buzzing. Candice notes, “The Bold and the Beautiful is doing what it does best. Family feuds, complicated romances, and characters making decisions that are guaranteed to have consequences.” Beyond the Gates continues to prove why it is daytime’s hottest new address. The fallout from the devastating tornado continues to impact everyone in Fairmont Crest. Questions remain everywhere you turn. Will Ashley choose Andre or Derek? And perhaps the bigger question. Whose bed will Danny end up making tomorrow? 😄 Ashley laughs, “Every time I think I know where Beyond the Gates is headed, the writers pull the rug out from under me. I absolutely love it.” On Days of Our Lives, Lexie may be living on borrowed time, and the chessboard is once again being arranged for new moves using a very familiar playbook. Salem is never short on danger, and with DiMera intrigue lurking around nearly every corner, nobody should get too comfortable. Sue Allen says, “Days feels like classic Salem right now. Family secrets, DiMera scheming, impossible choices, and just enough danger to keep everyone looking over their shoulder.” And then there is General Hospital. Port Charles is preparing for the long awaited return of Anna Devane, portrayed by the incomparable Finola Hughes. Tensions continue to rise inside the Port Charles Police Department. Tracy, Chase, Willow, Michael, and a growing list of others appear destined for collision courses. And of course, Sidwell remains as slimy and dangerous as ever, continuing to slither through Port Charles causing trouble wherever he goes. 🐍 Anthony says, “I am absolutely on the edge of my seat waiting for Anna’s return. Between the tension at the PCPD, the fallout among Willow, Michael, Tracy, and Chase, and Sidwell continuing to stir the pot, Port Charles feels ready to explode.” Every soap is bringing the drama. Every family is hiding secrets. Every couple faces impossible choices. And we cannot wait to break it all down with you.
