    Ep. 16 Google and Yahoo Email Marketing Requirement Changes Q1 2024 - Before You Send Your Next Email - Listen to This

    With the changes to Google and Yahoo’s email marketing regulations in Q1 of 2024, we thought we would go through the steps and share how to implement the changes for you and/or your clients. Having a custom domain is the best way to ensure your emails are being delivered to the inboxes of your community. So let’s dive in! How do you know if this info relates to you: You use an email marketing platform such as Flodesk, ActiveCampaign, MailChimp, Convertkit, etcetera to communicate with your audience AND are at risk of sending 5,000+ emails in any given 24hour period. -Think you don’t? Growing your business, and even with a small list if a few emails go out, it’s easy to meet this threshold. WHEN: They are non-specific. They are saying February but full changes across all accounts should be in early April. Our suggestion is to act now HOW: 4 things you need: 1. Email Marketing Platform Flodesk ActiveCampaign Mailchimp ConvertKit 2. Custom Domain (you don’t need to have a website to have a domain) GoDaddy NameCheap Bluehost 3. Custom Domain Email Gsuite Through your domain provider Outlook/microsoft 365 4. A place for your audience to unsubscribe with one click (most providers have this built in) + bonus if you give them a way to manage preferences If you need more: Untilize these platforms for even more info Facebook groups for your email marketing platform YouTube Your email marketing website FAQ Podcasts (heyyyy you’re here!) It’s so much easier that you realize! Resources Mentioned: Email Marketing providers: We love Flodesk, but ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp, and ConvertKit are also great. Domain providers: GoDaddy, NameCheap, or BlueHost (All three of these have great customer service) Additionally, to get a GSuite account where your email can come from your domain Lastly, we found THIS YouTube Video where he gives kind of a bandaid option if you or your client doesn’t want to do a domain yet. However, it seems like that’s just a temporary fix and a domain will be needed over time.     Does it feel like you’re constantly sharing but not many people are biting? Here’s what we’ve suggested to our clients to help bridge the gap between the viewer and the offer so it finally starts to make sense. Questions to ask yourself before sharing your story… refer to the story vault before posting… what do they need to hear? What haven’t you talked about in a while? What’s another detail they may find interesting? What are they going through? Have I been through anything like this? Where are they at in their journey that you’ve been through before? What helped break through it? What customer/client have you assisted that you can share about without any descriptors? Do you have any customers/clients that would be willing to share their story?
