    The asthma guideline – one year on

    In this episode of NICE Talks, we learn the impact of the joint asthma guideline published in November 2024. Developed collaboratively by the British Thoracic Society, NICE and the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network, the guideline has transformed how asthma is diagnosed and treated across the UK. We hear from frontline clinicians putting the guidance into practice and from those who helped develop it – including a patient who has lived with asthma for 65 years.     In this episode, we discuss recent analysis showing significant disparities in SGLT-2 inhibitor prescriptions for people with type 2 diabetes in England. We also explore how our new draft recommendations for these medications could increase uptake with our three guests.     Our Health Technology Assessment Innovation Laboratory (HTA Lab) was launched in June 2023 to test and develop creative solutions to complex problems in health technology assessment.
