Sam's Pursuit

Hello! My name is Sam, and I’m currently a full-time Flight Paramedic. I’ve worked in EMS for almost two decades, in multiple fields, which I believe gives me a unique perspective. Throughout my career, I’ve obtained my NREMT Paramedic, Bachelor of Science in EMS, FP-C, and many other certificates and degrees. I strongly believe that sharing our stories can be a healing experience than can educate, enlighten, and humble us. “They May Not Remember What You Did… But They’ll Remember How You Treated Them”

In this episode of NOON, I’m joined by Jeff, better known as Redbeard the Medic. Jeff is a flight paramedic, educator, and content creator who brings a raw, honest perspective to EMS, patient care, and the realities of learning at a higher level. We talk about his journey from the fire service into EMS, the difficult calls that still stay with him, what it’s really like stepping into flight, and why kindness can leave a bigger impact on patients than we sometimes realize. This was a real conversation about growth, humility, burnout, advocacy, and the people we carry with us in this job. “You Did Everything Right… And You’re The Reason They’re Dead.”

In this episode of NOON we have Patrick Pianezza, a paramedic, healthcare leader, and co-writer of Code 3, joining me to talk about the reality behind the job and the stories that don’t leave you. We get into burnout, the emotional weight of doing everything right and still losing a patient, and the call that stuck with him long after he left the truck. Patrick also shares the story behind Code 3 and how real experiences shaped what you see on screen. This one is raw, honest, and hits close to home for anyone in or out of EMS and healthcare. “New Life, End Of Life And Everything In Between.”

In this episode of NOON we have Christopher. He started his fire service career on September 11th, 2001 and the lessons began immediately. Christopher shares how a quadruple fatality early in his career shaped the way he approaches hard calls, mental health, and longevity in EMS. We talk about cultural competence when serving Amish communities, the importance of family-centered care, and how maturity changes the way you practice medicine. Christopher opens up about overcoming fear in pediatric emergencies, how a neonatal resuscitation course shifted his confidence, and why he’s now focused on helping other providers lower their “pucker factor.” From pediatric readiness and conference stages to building real community online, this conversation is about growth: clinically, emotionally, and professionally. “If We Stop This, The Patient Will Die.”

In this episode of NOON we have Sarah Vance. Sarah is an ICU nurse, critical care educator, and fierce patient advocate. She shares how staying at the bedside keeps her grounded, sharp, and connected to the real challenges nurses face every shift. We talk about going from almost becoming a Spanish teacher to stepping into the ICU during H1N1 and later COVID-19, the emotional weight of those years, and why confidence in nursing only comes from stepping into hard things. Sarah opens up about advocating for patients when it wasn’t popular, protecting her license, and why education should open doors, not close them.
