So the latest episode they talk about the new bill to end mail end ballots and require ID’s. The host & guest simplify it to “Democrats try to just say black people don’t have ID or can’t get them but you go ask black folks and they have ID’s.
So this is an extreme oversimplification. Why do gun rights advocates not like the idea of everyone needing a license to carry a firearm? Why not require guns not in use to be locked up? Many other gun control efforts can be brought up as well that gun control advocates often point out the cost of a carry permit or cost of a safe or gun lock is prohibitively unconstitutional because the right to bear arms should be available to people regardless of whether they have the money for permits or safes or a car to go and get said permits or time for a concealed carry class etc.
This is the validity of the opposition to the new voting ID law. If you don’t have a birth certificate to register you need a passport which is $165 and then you’ll need an ID to vote even if you use a birth certificate and although that won’t cost $165 it will still cost $40 or so plus time and travel. What if you don’t have a license or a way to the DMV in rural states? What if you need mail in for medical accessibility purposes.
This is not a good podcast for anyone seeking more than slanted ignorant arguments and conspiracy theories. They’re talking about “The Galactic Alliance” now. 🤦♂️ Knowledge is power but knowledge must be true and not conspiratorial nor partisan.
