    Introducing Emma Mettrick from our busiest and favourite restaurant 27 Steps. She and Paul have worked hard to build this amazing and very successful restaurant. Set in a heritage building it is a favourite amongst locals and features in all the travel guides as a 'must eat here'. Then Covid came and  the place shut down almost overnight. We talk about their passion for food and service, how hard it was to lay off staff and specifically how the lockdown has made them focus on their roots.  If you are in hospitality this is a great story that lets you know you are not in this alone and offers you advice on regrouping, finding your passion again and winning your customers back.

    There's a positive wind-change happening in the Forestry industry in New Zealand as it becomes our second largest export earner.

    A conversation with Prue Younger the CEO of the NZ Forest Industry Contractors Association of NZ.  We talk about addressing mental health during Covid Lockdown, creating a powerful industry collective, a little on women in forestry  and her thoughts on the future of the industry.  It was a pleasure to talk to Prue who is excited about the opportunities within forestry for young people and passionate about leading a sector through the current economic challenges.

    How to recover your Hospitality Business in a time of crisis. What Johnny learnt from surviving the earthquake .

    This is a story with equal amounts of inspiration  and education. I talk to Johnny Moore from Smash Palace, the busy and popular outdoor bar in central Christchurch New Zealand.  Johnny and Family owned a very popular live venue and bar in central Christchurch which was destroyed in the 2011 earthquakes. Johnny, in the bar at the time survived the building collapse and rebuilt the business with a new profile and audience. In this interview he talks about the emotional challenges, his passion for hospitality and what made all the difference in being able to get back into business quickly and successfully. We talk about the current Lockdown during this Covid 19 pandemic and what the future might look like for them.
