No Time Off

Veronica Zanchi

No Time Off, the podcast where we explore the careers powering the sport industry. Behind every match, there's a whole world of people making it all possible. Different jobs, same world. The names that don't make the headlines but hold the industry together. Every two weeks, I sit down with one of them. We talk about how they actually got into the industry and how they handle the pressure of working in a world that never switches off. The kind of conversation you'd have over a coffee, not across a desk. Discover with us why this is a lifestyle, not a 9-to-5.

From polished TV to the raw films outdoor brands chase - with Patrizia Bruno

The outdoor industry is not only extreme and mountain sports, it runs through adventure, expeditions and the people who bring those stories back. Patrizia Bruno led her first expedition at 14 and travelled the world as a reporter for Italian national television, before leaving it to drive 20,000 km from France to Guinea-Bissau in an old 4x4 with four surfboards on the roof. In this episode she explains why the polished version of women on the road stopped looking like the women she knew, how she uses the different skills she has built to cover her bases and keep an income coming in while a film takes years to finish, and what shifted the day Billabong wrote to her instead of the other way around. Along the way she shares how she picks the people she works with, and why the first question someone asks about a project tells her most of what she needs to know.
