PC 324 - Blast From The Past With Les Welch
This podcast is with Les Welch, an awesome dude I was reunited with in recent years. Les has an amazing timeline in the archery industry. He and I met in a remote camp once and teamed up to double down on two velvet whitetails. We both looked so different that it was a shock seeing him at the Total Archery Challenge events last year. Recently, he and I teamed up all Summer working with all levels of archers and enjoying the experiences of TAC. Les is a savage bowhunter, has a great backcountry portfolio and represents several great companies in the industry.
PC 323 - Andy’s Awesome Sauce
This podcast is with my good buddy, Andy Stumpf. We met up in Utah for a few hours and recorded an entertaining conversation about several ridiculous topics. This podcast was originally recorded for Andy’s Cleared Hot Podcast but I thought it would be a good listen for the #NockOnNation as well.
PC 322 - Making Hunting Easier & Better For All!
This is the missing link! We've discovered how to make hunting easier and better for all! On this podcast, I throw on the headsets with Nic De Castro of @LandTrust_Hunt and John Barklow of @SitkaGear at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Mountain Fest in Park City, Utah. We talk about the critical components of ACCESS & ETIQUETTE. With the increasing challenges of public land hunting, Nic introduces a new, really awesome service that allows private land hunting access to the general public. We also discuss hunting etiquette and the importance of all hunters doing their part in learning, teaching and embracing proper hunting etiquette and woodsmanship. This is a power-packed hour loaded with valuable information for all hunters! Now available wherever you listen to your podcasts!
John Barklow has developed clothing & equipment systems for the military & hunting industries and is a leader at Sitka. He has also taught the skills & mindset required to live in remote wilderness, trained Search & Rescue teams and Special Operations units how to thrive in dynamic mountain environments and educates constantly on his Knowledge From Storms platform.
Nic De Castro is a visionary with a very unique new way for hunters to access new lands for hunting. Barklow and I see this as a critical link between new hunters and the ability to access land and build relationships as stewards of the lands we hunt.
PC 321 - Evolving as a Bowhunter with Matt Read
There’s a lot of my progression through my hunting career that I’ve never really explained. It was a progressive journey that started on a small family place and grew into public hunting but then was slowly built into understanding private land hunting. Although I have never gone into detail on this in the past it all surfaced during a recent passion project with HuntWise app team. This awesome discussion happened as I sat down with huge assets to bowhunting Matt Read. Matt takes me and the viewers on an in depth tour of the powerful HuntWise app and all of the incredible features it provides to hunters to make them more knowledgeable and more successful. As we navigated the app I had distant memories surface that is such a critical step for new hunters to hear. I really enjoyed this podcast because we revealed how to climb the ladder of a new hunter to where I currently am.L! Also as an added bonus to our podcast listeners, HuntWise is giving the Nock On Nation a 25% discount off the app, which can be found at get.huntwise.com/nockon
Go check it out! You won't regret it!
PC 320 - Becoming a Better Bowhunter with Nate Huizenga
In this podcast, I sit down with Nate Huizenga who is an interesting new addition to the “grass roots” hunting community. He has such a cool story on becoming a hunter and I was curious to dig deeper. This podcast was the segue to me realizing the parallels of the Nock On Nation and the HuntWise Team. The definition of ETHOS is “the characteristic spirit of a culture, era, or community as manifested in its beliefs and aspirations”. When I first met with the HuntWise Team, it was obvious that their ethos closely matched my ethos and my passion to provide education and knowledge to help bowhunters be better. I am really pumped about this partnership and what it means for furthering our educational platform for the Nock On Nation!
PC 319 - Tales from the Hunt With Mike Slinkard.
On this podcast I talk with my good buddy Mike Slinkard who is an industry veteran and amazing hunter. I like to have a conversation each season with Mike prior to Spring hunting. He’s a wealth of knowledge and we talk about his recent hunt for a massive Costal Brown Bear that he shot under 20 yards and then we dive into some great information. I pick his brain about common mistakes hunters make for both Mule Deer and Elk!
Great coverage from all aspects. Keep it up
Les Welch Episode
Liked the podcast until Les Welch episode and he insulted people by saying killing an elk is “easy”. When asked to give advice don’t insult people. For some of us it’s not easy, so when we think someone might give us some real advice, but instead insult us, it’s not great.
This will make you a better archer period!
This podcast along with the NockOnTV “School of Nock” WILL make you a better shooter. He has the gift to teach and clearly articulate the small nuances of body position, mechanics and mentality that will make you a much better archer. John Dudley has made learning how to shoot a compound bow accessible to everyone! I had never had a lesson and it was just trial & error till “School of Nock” Season 1. I followed the twelve week course and at the end I was doing pretty well. I decided to find an archery instructor to see if what I was doing was right and to validate what I had learned from the videos. I was pleasantly surprised when the instructor said, “Your form looks really good. You have never had any instruction?” So aside from some minor tweaks, it was good to know that what John Dudley teaches it truly legit. Yes, I’m a “Nock-On Fan Boy” but when JD is sincere about helping to teach archery and I can trust the products he promotes is what he uses and is legit, why wouldn’t I be a fan? He has saved me a huge learning curve. Although his podcasts now aren’t focused as much on answering questions like hedid in the past, those are still available and I go back to them often. The episodes in the 20’s & 30’s are great for new shooters.
