Talk That Tears Down | Your Response(Ability), Part 2

We all know words matter, but it's easy to underestimate the impact of the conversations we have when the other person isn't in the room. Gossip doesn't always start with bad intentions, yet it can quietly shape relationships, reputations, and even our own hearts. This week we'll look at why we're drawn to these conversations, what Jesus had to say about them, and how choosing our words more carefully can change the way we relate to others.  Every day, we respond to people, to pressure, opinions, criticism, and even the voice in our own head. But our responses are rarely as small as they seem. They shape relationships, reveal what’s happening beneath the surface, and create a ripple effect throughout our lives. Your Response(ability) is an invitation to slow down, pay attention, and consider what our words and reactions are really doing. 📌 NEXT STEPS: Wherever you are, we want to help you discover what’s next. 👉 https://www.npaustin.com/whatsnext Not sure where to start? Don't be Afraid | Paradoxes, Part 4

Fear shows up in all kinds of ways. Sometimes it looks like panic, anxiety, or a loss of control. Other times it feels more like awe, standing in front of something bigger than yourself. The Bible repeatedly tells us not to be afraid, yet it also says that fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. So how can both be true, and what does it mean to trust a God who is both powerful enough to fear and loving enough to call Father? Jesus often said things that felt backwards. Ideas that challenged people’s assumptions and invited them to see life differently. In this series, we’ll look at some of the tension in His words and why what seems upside down at first might actually lead to a better way to live. 📌 NEXT STEPS: Wherever you are, we want to help you discover what’s next. 👉 https://www.npaustin.com/whatsnext Not sure where to start? Give to Receive | Paradoxes, Part 3

The tension is that most of us assume holding on tightly is the safest way to protect what matters. We grip our time, money, relationships, and even forgiveness because we are afraid that letting go will leave us with less. But what if the opposite is true? This week, we'll explore one of Jesus' most misunderstood teachings and discover how generosity may not be the result of a full life, but the pathway to one.Jesus often said things that felt backwards.
