I started to listen to this podcast after seeing Kaycee do stand up at my wife’s bar in South Florida. I figured I would download a few episodes so I could give it a listen whilst (whilst? Who still says that?) traveling to this big queer conference. No really, I’m not being rude or judgey, it’s a social justice conference for the LGBTQ community that happens every year in January . So today’s the day I’m flying to Dallas, and my seat mate, who is encroaching my space and man-spreading in his seat, is a talker. Lovely. So the flight attendant comes by and asks if we want anything to drink. My usual response is hot tea, but to my surprise- today’s response was “jack on the rocks please.”
So I put my ear pods in and settle in so my seat mate can see I don’t want to talk, and get ready to listen to your show for the first time. Now mind you, I’m not much of a podcaster, so this is a new experience for me with the whole downloading and whatnot. So I get through-okay, I didn’t mean to say get through like it was a struggle, but I’m half way through the 3rd podcast and I just can’t believe how fast Kaycee talks. I’m thinking to myself it’s either the jack on the rocks talking, or maybe because she’s from LA, but I was thinking she really is a fast talker! So I hit pause so I can ask the flight attendant for another tiny bottle of goodness and I realized my very large seat mate had laid his arm on my phone and sped the podcast up 1.5 times the speed! I didn’t know that was an even an option on podcasts! (And why is that even an option? Why would anyone want to listen at 1.5 or 2 times the speed ?!) You really should listen to yourselves on that speed, it’s pretty darn funny actually... so where was I? Oh! so before my connecting flight I download more podcasts to listen to since I had ripped though several at lightening fast speed. The captain kept interrupting my listening with those captain required announcements and when it was time to get off the plane, I didn’t want to so I could keep listening in oeace with no distractions!
Not to be creepy, but you guys felt like my new besties as we (well, technically just me) we WENT THROUGH SOMETHING TOGETHER Y’ALL! The man spreading, the cocktails, the captain telling me to get the hell off the plane-it was a hell of a day, but we did it-we got through it TOGETHER!
So anyhoooooo, I love the show...Kaycee and Chris (or Gary, depending on the day) are both real and funny. I feel like I have two new BFFs that I can relate to. Well, that just sounds sad, but hoping I get a good review on my review. 🙌
