    The Overnight Collapse Isn’t the Signal

    AUS200 futures are down around 90 points this morning after a positive ASX session yesterday. Historically, though, the size of the overnight fall hasn’t been the important part of this setup. The first hour has. When the first hour finished flat or negative, all 11 previous occurrences finished the ASX session lower, averaging −54 points. When the first hour rallied at least 9 points, the average session finish was +41. Same setup at 10am. Two very different paths from there.
