    Ep 7: Role Reversal: Janine in Stilettos and Isadora Talks Mental Health

    Dreams of a big break often collide with the real world, where bodies are struck by illness and where casting calls mean vying with your dopplegangers for the same spot on a hit TV show. These are Janine and Isadora’s “almost moments” — where Janine dreams of a chance to act Off-Broadway and Isadora almost lands a role on LA Law. Janine, who has Crohn’s disease, writes and performs a monologue in Pieces (of) Ass about sexy women sharing their innermost thoughts. Her heavy illness monologue about the grim reality of living with a stigmatized disease is off-tone from the raunchy and lighthearted cast, but she does it for the inspiring audience connection after each show.   Isadora’s network odyssey reshapes her craft, confidence and sense of self.  Following the path to a major TV role on LA Law, she endures callback after callback and discovers the riddle of “type” — eccentric, off-center, not conventionally castable.
