A must for all NYPD Blue fans

I discovered NYPD Blue in TNT reruns in the 2000s and it quickly became one of favorite programs ever. Dennis Franz’s influence on antihero portrayals is vastly underestimated, despite the accolades he won in the 90s.

The Asher brothers love the show as much as any fie hard fan. However they don’t let that blind them to its occasional flaws (Luke underwritten female characters in the first few years, or half-baked Medavoy c-plots).

The brothers’ breakdowns of each episode are honest, insightful and funny. If you can keep yourself from Hulu bingining, you can time your rewatch of each episode to the podcast.

Suggestions for the brothers:
1. Try to get cast or writer interview (would love to hear from Kim Delaney, Mark Gisselle, etc.).
2. If you’re going to interview your dad, try not to belabor the race stuff. Fast forwarding through you trying to make him more woke isn’t fun. He’s a good guy, but of his era.

Thanks!

The Asher brothers do an AWESOME job of breaking down each episode of NYPD Blue. The plots, character development, other juicy nuggets, and top-notch banter, wit, and opinions can be heard in each NYPD Blue Balls episode. This is a great podcast if you want to relive NYPD Blue, and it's also a great compliment if you are re-watching an epiode or if you are watching the series for the first time!

Not bad

I love NYPD Blue, it's my favorite show ever, so I was pretty excited to find a podcast dedicated to it.

The only thing I don't like is that one of the brothers (the one on the phone) is always either eating, yawning, or sneezing into the microphone. I mean what the heck? Why would you do that when you know you have people tuning in?

Anyways, this is not a bad way to waste a half hour if you've got nothing better to do, since it is free and all. Just don't expect greatness, it's just two average guys with very little talent talking about the show and yawning into the microphone.
