    How to marry well.

    Marriage is an important decision and I found myself underprepared for this journey. The only advice I received was to marry a God-fearing man, but I had no example of one so I didn’t know what to look for. It had little meaning to me, therefore making it difficult to desire for myself, though I knew it was good. For the last 5 years, the Lord has been teaching me. I’m writing this to all my single and engaged women out there. As the title suggests, I will be taking on the challenge of answering the question: how do you marry well? As a Christian Nigerian, the only answer I received was “marry a God-fearing man” and that answer simply does not help me. As a future aunty and mother, I wanted to answer this question better. So if “marry a God-fearing man” is unhelpful or confusing to you too, let me help you see its wisdom differently. Whether you’re confused or are completely sure, perhaps there is something new here for you to hear.

    Rejection's Blessings

    Rejection hurts. In this episode, we dive into a mini-Bible study and float through a poem on the blessings of rejection as seen in Genesis 29, the story of Leah, Jacob's unloved wife. Leah prayed for God to make Jacob love her, but God will not answer prayers rooted in manipulation. He does not "make" us love Him, so He will not "make" other people love us. His only duty is to help us love those we have chosen to love, Himself included. God sees your rejection and has heard your affliction, take a listen and let Him heal you.

    If you've ever had something end in your life, this episode is for you. Whether it was a friendship you never thought would end or a place you never thought you would leave, endings are laced with some element of pain. How you navigate the waves of emotions is what will make or break your character and relationship with God and others. So how do we practically and genuinely love from a distance? How do we effectively heal our hearts? What are the blessings that come out of something that brings us so much pain and discomfort? Take a listen and find out as we delve a little deeper into Ecclesiastes 7:8.

    God is not a God of Uncertainty

    There are certain situations in this life that are more black and white than we give it credit for, such as relationships. Undefined relationships are not as "undefined" as we make it seem because they are definitely not a relationship...0 commitment, 100% vibes. Even the infamous answer of "I don't know" can spell out 'no' two times. Honestly speaking, I believe that "I don't know" is a cowardly way of letting someone (someone who likes you and you like back) down without really letting them down. It's a way to say no, but still have access to the perks that come with the yes that they desire to hear. What does God say about uncertainty and uncertain relationships? Is uncertainty even in His character? God shook me to the core and I can't keep His chastening words to myself. Take a listen and share if you felt convicted, shocked, or whatever emotion my words evoke.
