Motherhood is a journey. Motherhood can be a challenging job. Join the mothers of OBSESSED, Jodi Morell and Beth Drost as they share insider secrets on motherhood and raising the queens of The Obsessed Podcast.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOM'S EVERYWHERE!
You are the sunlight in my day.
You are the moon I see far away.
You are the tree I lean upon.
You are the one that makes troubles be gone.
You are the one who taught me about life,
How not to fight and what is right.
You are the words inside my song.
You are my love, my life, my mom.
You are the one who cares for me.
You are the eyes that help me see.
You are the one who knows me best,
When it's time to have fun and time to rest.
You are the one who has helped me to dream.
You hear my heart and you hear my screams.
Afraid of life but looking for love.
I'm blessed, for God sent you from above.
You are my friend, my heart, and my soul.
You are the greatest friend I know.
You are the words inside my song.
You are my love, my life, my mom.
Beth and Jodi reminisce about their own journeys as mothers while offering sage advice gleaned from decades of collective experience. From the sleepless nights of newborns to the bittersweet moments of letting go as their children spread their wings, they explore the timeless truths and universal challenges of parenting.
With laughter bubbling forth like a cherished family recipe and tears occasionally glistening in their eyes, Beth and Jodi share tender anecdotes of their grandchildren's antics, celebrating the joy that comes with witnessing new life unfold.
But it's not all sunshine and rainbows; they also confront the darker shades of motherhood—the doubts, the fears, the moments of overwhelming uncertainty. Yet, through it all, they find solace in the unwavering support they offer each other, a bond fortified by love, understanding, and a shared journey through the trials and triumphs of raising children.
As the afternoon sun begins to dip below the horizon, Beth and Jodi conclude their conversation with a reaffirmation of the enduring strength found in the sisterhood of motherhood. With hearts full and spirits lifted, they eagerly anticipate the next chapter in their shared adventure, knowing that no matter what challenges may arise, they'll face them together, armed with the wisdom passed down through the generations.

Random Acts of Kindness: A Path to Well-Being
Kindness stands as a revered trait in Western culture (Binfet, 2015), endearing us to others and fostering reciprocal affection. Its effects extend beyond mere social approval, benefiting both the recipients and givers alike. Studies indicate that spending on others correlates with heightened happiness, while volunteering contributes to improved health (Curry et al., 2018).
What prompts the positivity of random acts of kindness?
The notion that happiness stems from actions enhancing survival finds support among researchers. Kindness, fostering robust social bonds, is believed by evolutionary psychologists to elevate happiness by bolstering our prospects for survival and flourishing, particularly within familial, communal, and spousal contexts (Curry et al., 2018).
Who exhibits random acts of kindness?
Researchers posit certain predispositions towards engaging in random acts of kindness:
Observing parental examples likely instills a propensity for kindness, echoing the adage "monkey see, monkey do."
Acknowledgment of our kindness by others can incentivize further acts of benevolence.
Witnessing kindness in others tends to elicit reciprocal gestures, suggesting a contagion effect within social circles (Baskerville et al., 2000).

Trauma Bonds, Toxic Relationships and The Wolf of Wall Street Wife with Dr. Nadine Macaluso
RUN LIKE HELL from Toxic RELATIONSHIPS! Let's get the inside scoop on toxic relationships and The Wolf of Wall Street with Dr. Nadine Macaluso, second wife to Jordan Belfort.
In the bustling streets of Brooklyn, amidst the struggles of living on welfare, a young girl's story began—a tale that would weave through the highs and lows of life, ultimately culminating in resilience and triumph. Meet Dr.
Nadine Macaluso, the real-life counterpart to the captivating world of the "Wolf of Wall Street."
Her journey wasn't paved with gold but with sheer determination and unwavering spirit. From the shadows of poverty emerged a young woman who dared to dream. Being Perfect and The Path of Reinvention Inspired By Glennon Doyle
In a world where perfectionism whispers its seductive promises of fulfillment, Glennon Doyle's "Untamed" serves as a beacon of liberation. With unapologetic honesty, Doyle invites us to shed the shackles of societal expectations and embrace our raw, untamed selves. Through her poignant prose, she illuminates the transformative power of letting go of the illusion of who we're supposed to be, and instead, embracing who we truly are. In the pages of "Untamed," Doyle emboldens us to confront our fears, challenge the status quo, and forge our own paths toward authenticity. It's a rallying cry for self-discovery and a celebration of the messy, imperfect beauty that lies within each of us. So let's dare to release the grip of perfectionism and embark on a journey of self-love and acceptance alongside Glennon Doyle, finding solace and inspiration in the pages of "Untamed."
Releasing perfectionism can be a liberating journey toward self-acceptance and growth. Here are some tips to help you let go of the relentless pursuit of perfection:
Set realistic expectations: Recognize that perfection is an unattainable standard. Instead, aim for progress and improvement rather than flawless execution.Challenge perfectionistic thoughts: Notice when you're setting impossibly high standards for yourself and question the validity of those standards. Ask yourself if they're truly necessary or if they're rooted in fear or self-doubt.Practice self-compassion: Treat yourself with kindness and understanding, especially when you make mistakes or fall short of your expectations. Remember that you're only human, and imperfection is part of the human experience.Focus on the process, not just the outcome: Embrace the journey of learning and growing, rather than fixating solely on the end result. Celebrate your efforts and progress along the way.Embrace imperfection: Allow yourself to make mistakes and embrace imperfection as a natural part of life. Remember that mistakes are opportunities for learning and growth.Reframe failure: Shift your perspective on failure from something to be feared or avoided to something that offers valuable lessons and insights. View setbacks as stepping stones toward success rather than evidence of inadequacy.Set boundaries: Learn to say no to unrealistic demands and prioritize self-care. Establishing boundaries can help prevent burnout and overwhelm, allowing you to focus on what truly matters.Seek support: Surround yourself with supportive friends, family, or a therapist who can offer encouragement and perspective as you work on releasing perfectionism.Practice mindfulness: Cultivate present moment awareness through practices like meditation or deep breathing exercises. Mindfulness can help you let go of perfectionistic tendencies and cultivate greater acceptance of yourself and your experiences.Celebrate progress: Acknowledge and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small. Recognize that progress is more important than perfection, and every step forward is a reason to celebrate.

Great show to give you a different perspective
there are a few episodes that stand out more than others. Which make the show really great. The episode where they talk to the last lawyer for John Wayne Gacy, and the most significant episode with Kendra about parental alienation. These ladies offer insight on experience of others and issues to be noticed.I do listen to obsessed. And it’s a good show thanks ladies.
