Darren

Darren often has an odd way of looking at the world and all the interesting quirks and goings on. Conversations with friends, acquaintances , himself and other interesting people in a light hearted manner on the subjects that confuse, annoy or intrigue him.

    Ep. 18 Adam Crickmore

    Adam trained with Darren and was one of the original members. Adam joined the RAF after University in 2006, after Officer training at RAF Cranwell started flying training on the Grob Tutor (First solo in an aircraft) at RAF Church Fenton in Yorkshire. Selected for Fast Jet training and moved onto the Tucano at RAF Linton on Ouse, then the Hawk T1 (first flight on in a Fast Jet) at RAF Valley in 2008 for tactical weapons training, (learning air combat, air to ground weapons delivery and low level tactical flying). Selected to fly Typhoon in 2010, completed Operational Conversion at RAF Coningsby. (First student to be trained solely in the simulator before first flight which was effectively solo). Then posted to 11 Squadron at Coningsby in 2011. During my time on the Typhoon I manned Quick Reaction Alert (Intercepted a helicopter over Bristol after travelling supersonic over the UK in 2012.) Manned QRA in London during the Olympics (first time the RAF had deployed aircraft in London since WWII also met David Cameron and launched at night over london) Lots of QRA in the Falkland islands. Participated in Exercise Red Flag in 2014 (based in America, largest air force exercise in the world), flew in the F-16, air combat against an F-22 and led a fly past of aircraft from different countries, over Celtic Manor for the Nato summit in 2014. 2015 moved to RAF Valley to instruct student on the Hawk T2 and took part in the RAF 100 flypast over London in 2018. Left the RAF at the end in 2019 after 14 years and now teaching students to fly out in Italy on the M-346. (first Brit to qualify on the M-346).

    Ep 16 Croydon Demello

    Croydon DeMello lives in Canada currently managing his own mortgage business and is the host of two podcasts “The Focal Thought” on YouTube and “Stevenson’s Mind” on Anchor. He attended the Humber College of Music program in Toronto with a focus on Jazz Performance, Composition and Arranging and also attended the University of Concordia’s Journalism program in Montreal. His vision is to change the paradigm of thought with empowered thinking so that people can live the best version of their ultimate potential . He is the author of “All The Best In Your Life” a personal self-help book which contains reflections on certain principles used to enhance daily living. He has an affinity toward curiosity which he believes is central to discovery which leads to meaning and purpose.

    Ep 14 Charlie Watkins

    Darren sits down with fitness professional Charlie and rambles about fitnessing, how he contradicts himself when it comes to everything fitness, the asylum and girls football. this will count as part one of a couple of episodes the two plan to do. A bit about Charlie:  Charlie....also known as Crazee Charlie Roles: -Mum, Wife, Crazy Bird (in that order!) -Homeschool Teacher (Ofstead Rated, requires improvement) -Frustrated Fitpro.....the Duracell Bunny is grounded -Dabbling Sports Therapist Goals and Aspirations: ⁃ Give the gift of fitness for as long as I acceptably can (no one wants to be the gym dinosaur 🦖) Fitness changed me completely, it starts about reducing the size of your arse and finishes being the only thing that clears the negative crap in your mind 🤯 A lot of people just don’t get this, I’m a firm believer in exercise being the most under-utilised anti-depressant 💊 ⁃ Raise my kids to be nothing other that happy, decent humans that are able to deal with the world I brought them in to. Everything else is a bonus.....been a parent nearly 12 years and it’s looking good so far, I’m amazed I haven’t misplaced them somewhere by now 🤦‍♀️ ⁃ Continue to ignore the fact that I’ve had a disc removed from my c spine and crack on as usual for as long as I can possibly get away with. Forever thankful to our wonderful NHS for the speed and efficiency in which they dealt with a situation that could have left me working out of a wheelchair......the most crazy thing is that I had no idea the risk of was that high, just carried out tuck jumping and throwing weights around with a disc pressing into my spinal cord 😦 Random stuff: -My real name is Charlotte (regal innit) but only when I’ve been really bad 😂 -I LOVE to party 💃 🍸 I used to give myself some stick about this, thinking ‘should I be rocking up at 4am and getting up with the kids at 7am?!’. This lockdown lark has made me realise that behaving like a 20 year old every few weeks was so good for my mental health, a few hours off being the grown up. I just hope I’m not to old to go clubbing when they open back up 👵 -I’m not a ‘Ford’ girl, I grew up in Ludlow -I got engaged in The Grand Canyon whilst being serananded by a cowboy singing Ronan Keating (wtf?!)

    Ep. 13 Nathan Scott

    Darren sits down with long time friend Nathan and ramble about football in Herefordshire in the recent past nights out and Darren's usual tangents come into play. Not to mention Darren's new found stutter seems to be getting more and more of a thing. Nathan Scott born hr2 Hereford 1978. Interest are music and football. If I was on miss world my favourite animal is the silver back gorilla and if i win I would ask for word peace. Left haywood school 95 played for peggy Hinton Harold Bartestree/ sundays the treacle mine and the vaga. Currently Bartestree 1st team manager and u13 manager. Played guitar and sang In a number of local bands from 97 to 2006. Occupation: managing director of ntsbuilding and restoration Ltd. I'm a bricky/builder. Love my job. Although if I could of been anything else I would of been king of ice land. Happily married to my wife Jade. 3 very funny kids William 12 Hugo (Nugget) 11 and Arabella 10 going on 16.

    Episode 12 Paul "Biffo" Mann

    Slightly delayed due to audio issues, some of which are still there towards the end of the episode. Long time friend , team mate and coach Paul "Biffo" Mann joins Darren and the guys take a few trips down football memory lane and discuss most things football, along with other things like mental health and terminal illness. Big shout out to Lee Symonds and Anthony Murphy for helping sort the audio issues.

    Episode maybe 11? Al and Sean

    Al is the founder and CEO of Inner Armour who train police and military how to use a unique 28 question psychological coaching method to save each other. AL works with, NATO, The Royal Marines, RAF, US Marines, British Army, MET Police, Hampshire Police, Essex Police and various police depts in North Carolina USA. Al holds three degrees from UK Universities and is most recently a MAPP (Masters in Applied Positive Psychology) graduate of the University of East London.  Al also accompanies regular police shifts not only at home with the London MET & Essex Police Force but internationally and most recently in the USA where he was shot at in t during work for Inner Armour.. it is safe to say, Al is not afraid of getting involved. Al also has two years experience in Universities lecturing at postgraduate level in the UK one year internationally. His down to earth, kind and positive approach is infectious. It has been his total passion to stop Police and Military taking their own lives by any and all means – even if that means sacrificing his own life.
