Off-Limits with Ellen Roers

Ellen Roers

Welcome to Off Limits with Ellen Roers, the podcast and platform where nothing is off limits, and everything is about living with more intention. We talk about the things that shape who we are and who we’re becoming. Relationships, mindset, money, purpose, starting over, the subconscious mind, masculine and feminine energy, building your empire, and creating a life that actually feels as good as it looks. Some conversations are inspiring. Some are vulnerable. Some might make you question the way you’ve always done things. That’s kind of the point. I’m Ellen, speaker, RTT therapist, nurse by trade, and host of the Off Limits podcast. Through Elevated Living, I share what I’m learning, what I’m living, and conversations with people who have something meaningful to teach us. Because I believe we’re all capable of creating more abundance, more purpose, deeper relationships, and a life that feels authentically ours. Sometimes that means building something new. Sometimes it means letting something go. And sometimes it simply means becoming more conscious of the life you’re already living. You’re not behind. You’re becoming. 🎧 Subscribe for new episodes, conversations, mindset tools, and real, heart forward content designed to make you think, grow, and live a little more intentionally. 🎙️ Ep: 41 Are You Living From Hope or Hurt?

Send us Fan Mail Are you making decisions based on where you're going... or based on what happened to you before? In Episode 41 of Off-Limits, I start with something surprisingly simple: a dating profile that made me wonder whether we sometimes think we're communicating our standards when we're actually communicating our wounds. But this episode isn't really about dating. It's about how we're living. Whether you're single, married, starting over, navigating a career change, rebuilding after disappointment, or simply trying to figure out your next chapter, we all carry pieces of our past into our present. The question is: Is your past teaching you... or is it quietly running the show? I also get personal about the ending of a relationship with someone I genuinely cared about. There was no villain. No betrayal. No dramatic ending. Just two good people trying to determine whether the lives they were individually building could truly become one. And it made me wonder: Can a relationship still be successful even if it ends? We talk about trusting your intuition versus overthinking, the power and occasional ache of singlehood, building your “empire” while still leaving room for someone else, and the difference between carrying baggage forward and carrying wisdom. Because healing doesn't mean pretending something didn't hurt. It means becoming conscious enough that what happened to you doesn't unconsciously decide what happens next. And this isn't just about romantic relationships. Where are old hurts influencing your marriage, friendships, career, opportunities, or the way you see yourself? Are your standards rooted in self-worth... or have some become armor? Are you staying because something is right for you... or because you're afraid of what happens if you let it go? Are you responding to what's actually happening today... or to something that happened years ago? And maybe the biggest question: If the thing you've been asking for showed up tomorrow, are you actually ready to receive it... or are you still protecting yourself from what happened before? Your past gets to teach you. It doesn't get to drive you. Take the lesson. Keep the wisdom. Leave the bitterness. Date from hope.  Love from hope.  Build from hope.  Lead from hope.  And most importantly... live from hope. Because nothing is off-limits when you're living on purpose. Ellen Roers | EL&Co. 🎙️ Ep 39: Midlife Body Renewal Strength, fascia health, and reshaping the body (without extremes)

Send us Fan Mail In this episode of Off-Limits, I sit down with Joey Atlas, creator of The Truth Atlas on YouTube, for a candid conversation about the midlife body and what actually works when it comes to strength, confidence, and feeling good in your skin again. Joey is known for cutting through fitness noise, especially for men and women navigating midlife changes. Together, we talk honestly about why bodies respond differently after 40, how muscle and fascia play a major role in shaping and rejuvenation, and why strength is one of the most overlooked tools for confidence and beauty. This conversation goes beyond workouts or aesthetics. We talk about cellulite without shame, sustainable movement without extremes, and learning to trust your body again instead of fighting it. We also touch on authenticity, aging openly, content creation, and why simple, consistent approaches often outperform trendy fixes. If you’ve felt frustrated by your body or confused by conflicting fitness advice, this episode is meant to bring clarity, relief, and encouragement. In this episode, we talk about: Why midlife bodies need a different approachThe role of muscle and fascia in reshaping the bodyThe truth about cellulite and body textureStrength as a pathway to confidence and beautySustainable movement without punishment or extremes🎧 Thank you for being here, and if this episode resonates, I hope you’ll share it with someone who needs a healthier, kinder approach to strength and aging well. 🎙️ Ep 38: Aligned or Misaligned in Love? 20 Questions for Dating, Marriage, and Singlehood

Send us Fan Mail In this episode of Off-Limits, I share 20 questions I now ask myself quietly and internally before letting someone into my life.  These are not first-date questions, and they’re not meant to interrogate anyone.  They’re meant to help you stay aligned with yourself. While I share these reflections through the lens of dating and singlehood, these questions truly apply to everyone. Whether you’re single, dating, married, partnered, divorced, or simply in relationship with yourself, alignment matters. I’ve grouped the questions into themes including intention, boundaries, emotional availability, identity, growth, and solitude. Together, they offer a grounded framework for reflecting on how you show up in relationships and whether you’re choosing from peace or pressure. I also share why I value singlehood as a season of alignment rather than avoidance, and how clarity can often be kinder than chemistry. A downloadable version of all 20 questions is available in the show notes for reflection or journaling.  You can revisit them monthly or quarterly as a personal check-in. I also give a preview of the next episode, where I’ll be interviewing fitness expert Joey Atlas about body confidence, strength, and navigating physical changes in your 40s and beyond. This episode is an invitation to slow down, reflect honestly, and choose alignment over rushing. 🎙️Ep 36: Love Over the Checklist: The Box Theory, Materialists & The Fall Guy

Send us Fan Mail What really matters in love - the checklist or the connection? 💭 In this Wisdom Wednesday episode of Off-Limits, Ellen dives into the new film Materialists (Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal, Chris Evans) and The Fall Guy (Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt) to explore how modern dating often feels like a spreadsheet of “must-haves.” She shares personal stories from her younger checklist days, her Box Theory on true love, and the lessons learned when chemistry and connection outweigh paper-perfect resumés. ✨ Takeaways: Why connection beats checklists every time. The role of self-love and worthiness in finding (and keeping) love.Questions to ask yourself if you’re single, dating, or in a relationship.Because at the end of the day, love isn’t about the restaurants, the résumés, or the paychecks. It’s about who you’d still choose in the box.
