A CYBER TRADITION ....
Been listening to EG & Co. on "Off the Hook" on WBAI-FM every Wwdnesday in New York City and here it is in convienent autodownload podcast form: HUZZAH!! My stable cyberanchor in an insane world .... ♥️♥️♥️
A shell of what once was
Used to tune into OTH every week on shortwave radio back in the day. To listen to these jokers today (especially Emmanuel) it is so laughable how fall they have fallen. If you are looking for angry ranting about vaccines and republicans, you came to the right place. If you are looking for actual topical information seek it elsewhere. EG must be a very angry little man.
Not with a bang, but a whimper.
2600 and Off the Hook are cultural icons, but tuning in today you would never know it. Long gone are the days of discussing the latest telecom hijinks and underground knowledge. Instead you will hear about hacker topics such as abortion, vaccines, and NPR. Like most old media, this has become almost unlistenable since Covid, unless hours of AWFUL steaming audio, podcast technical incompetency, and clueless guests are your thing. Good lord guys, zoomers on twitch are streaming in 4k with 24bit audio, and somehow not one of you can record audio that doesn’t sound like 1998 RealPlayer.
