    Senior Citizens and Medical Marijuana in Rural America

    Off the Record is an imprint of The Reporter - Delaware County, NY's leading weekly newspaper. This episode explores medical marijuana, a topic that can be polarizing, no matter where you stand on the issue.  That’s especially true in conservative areas like Delaware County, where marijuana is considered by many -  including the county’s top law enforcement officer - the county sheriff, to be a “gateway drug” despite the proven medicinal benefits.  To better understand this topic, we talk to a local healthcare professional, an anonymous 74-year old senior citizen who has a prescription for medical marijuana and a local lawmaker.
