OPC 048: Inner Child Healing and Learning to Reparent Ourselves

OPC 048: Inner Child Healing and Learning to Reparent Ourselves

As children, we’re born without any means to defend ourselves. Totally dependent on our parents for love, acceptance and shelter, there can be times when our parents fail to provide emotional, psychological, and physical shelter required. This can cause us to be stuck in a trauma-response for years to come with a wounded-inner child:
You often have to guess at what “normal” is, because it doesn’t feel safe to trust.
You pose the risk of getting hurt when you get close to someone, so you back away.
For years we felt smaller than, learning to mitigate our own needs to compensate for our low self-esteem. We came to reject the part of us that needed love, trust, and understanding instead became a person who someone else wanted us to be.
As adults, we cannot return to our childhood and begin again. So, often, we need to reparent ourselves. A life skill never taught, reparenting means giving yourself what you didn’t receive from childhood and giving your wounded inner child the love, respect, and dignity you deserved when you were young.
In this week’s Recovery Coaching call, the group helped Leo, Jess, and Jen. All struggling with trust, fear, and taking on a new venture in their lives, they all must learn to reparent themselves to understand themselves on a deeper level so they can ultimately find love, joy, and passion.
In this week’s Recovery Coaching call, you’ll learn:
[0:27] Leo shares the hard emotions he is facing leading up to his new job.  [3:56] What Leo's inner child is trying to communicate with him.  [15:20] Leo receives support and love from the group as he departs into this next chapter of his life.  [19:60] The inner voices that live within us and the process of reparenting.   [27:06] Jess shares the struggle she experiences with letting go of the inner dialogue that her parents’ expectations has instilled within her.  [39:52] Jen shares the self-deprecating inner language that she is grappling with due to career challenges. [48:10] The drama triangle and the roles that Jen is taking on within that triangle.  [57:20] Jen learns to reframe her thinking and receives words of guidance. OPC 45: Austin Linney feat Omar Pinto: How to Consistently Continue Growing

OPC 45: Austin Linney feat Omar Pinto: How to Consistently Continue Growing

Meet Omar, he helps individuals get out of their own way so they can achieve their desired goals and objectives through coaching and emotional healing work.
So how does he know so much about overcoming unhealthy habits, you ask? Well, that’s because he had to overcome many! Drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, fast food, energy drinks, porn, laziness, complacency and the list goes on and on. There came a moment in his life where he felt completely hopeless. He felt as though he was powerless to change any unhealthy habits and all he wanted to do was find a way to feel better about myself. He was 31 years old, his wife was pregnant, he was running his business into the ground, he was heavily addicted to cocaine and alcohol and his friends had had enough.  That year he lost everything!
The funny thing is the reason he started drinking in the first place was because it made him feel better about himself, and for many years it worked, until it didn’t.  In the end the only thing he felt was miserable and hopeless. He was desperate to stop drinking and doing drugs, so he finally took his therapist's advice and went to a 12 Step Meeting, that was his first stop on the road to recovery.
10 years into his sobriety he launched one of the most successful recovery podcasts on iTunes, The SHAIR Podcast with over 2 million downloads and listeners from all over the world. During this time he was introduced to Life Coaching and Personal Development, since then he has never looked back.  Coaching was the turning point that allowed him to get out of his own way and start becoming the person he was always meant to be.  For years he has worked on himself, one-on-one coaching, practitioner training, coaching certifications, seminars, workshops, extensive emotional healing work, you name it.  Personal growth and development practices are very empowering and what you will find is that you can always go deeper. For him the healing work was so deep and so profound that it allowed him to discover that more than anything in the world, Coaching and Healing are his calling and his future.
He specializes in helping people get out of their own way. He helps individuals identify the major pain points in their lives and break free from their past. He has over 15 years of experience in addiction recovery and has combined NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), personal development and emotional healing work to produce fast, effective results.
If you are struggling with emotional distress, feel unfulfilled in your life, overwhelmed with anxiety and frustration, are unable to stop using unhealthy soothing methods in order to cope with life day to day, you don’t have to look any further. It’s time to set up a free consultation with him today.
    What You Will Discover:

OPC 043: Money Mindset and Financial Abundance

OPC 043: Money Mindset and Financial Abundance

Recovery is so much more than putting down the substances. Once we stop the self-perpetuating cycle of self-destructive behaviors from addiction and trauma, we begin to uncover how much our experiences have affected all aspects of our lives. We’re often left with a lack of coping mechanisms, dysfunctional relationships, pain, guit, shame, and financial challenges.
Financial sobriety can be one of the hardest components of recovery, though can be one of the most rewarding. Financial sobriety means healing our mindset and relationships around money, and becoming accountable and mindful of where you are financially, where you want to be, and how you’re going to get there.
In this week’s Omar Pinto Coaching Podcast, the group helped Travis. Struggling to understand the effect that prison had on his life, the belief system he has around money and doing what he loves are preventing him from living  the life he truly deserves.
In week’s Recovery Coaching call, you’ll learn:
[0:18] Travis questions the impact that incarceration and prison has had on his life.       [5:00] Travis shares the criminal-like behavioral patterns and thinking that continue to affect him even in recovery.       [7:40] Travis discusses his thoughts to chase desires with disregard to consequences and begins to identify the traumas that led him to this type of thought pattern.        [17:35] How incarceration simply amplified Travis’ inability to be vulnerable and authentic.       [26:25] How unresolved trauma due to lack of trust in others leads to identity crisis.       [34:37] Travis explains the difficulty he has experienced financially due to his criminal background, which has led to anxiety, fear, and low self esteem.        [53:51] How to identify limiting belief systems around finances and the importance of giving yourself permission to create a career out of your passions.       [63:18] Travis comes to acknowledge that his belief system and mindset in regards to money has been holding him back and receives encouragement and tools to help him change For the show notes and links for this episode go to omarpinto.com/043.
