    Ep. 6: A matriarchal society

    In this episode, I am joined by Uncle Haydyn Bromley (whom you met in Ep. 4: The "abnormal" modern Australian society) and brother Lord Osei Bonsu to explore two different matriarchal cultures / societies and the interesting and complex systems involved in each, as well as the impact colonisation and modernisation has had on the survival of these cultures. Both these gentleman come from matriarchal cultures, and give us a glimpse into a woman's world, so to speak. Together, we celebrate the differences and explore similarities in our different cultures. Join us!

    Ep. 5: A journey of self-healing (One Story with Rebecca Harrison)

    In this episode, we are offered an insight into the journey of a strong and brave young woman who, through her ups and downs, and having lost those most dear to her in the process, was brought face to face with herself for self-reflection. She helps us appreciate just how complex a human being is, and the significance of looking at people, especially those who wrong or hurt us, with a softer gaze. There is always more to a person than meets the eye! This is the story of Rebecca Harrison. This is her journey of self love, self-care, and self healing. Tune in!

    Ep. 4: The "abnormal" modern Australian society

    In this episode, we explore the relationship between interculturalism and the "abnormal" modern Australian society to which it has given birth. We explore Australia's history, it's present, and explore a possible and a desired future for our land and cities in a modern intercultural [South Australian] context. The story of Australia has always fascinated me. People from all over the world have travelled to this land, and have learned to call it home. So many different cultures have been welcomed here; yet, the people of the land (the Aboriginal Australians) have not been given a say in this—in who can come, and who cannot come, or how the land is shared and looked after. Joining me in this conversation is Haydyn Bromley, an Aboriginal Australian who specialises in cross-cultural awareness and competency, and delivers Aboriginal Cultural Sensitivity and Respect Training at Bookabee Australia (you can learn more about, and hire his services at https://bookabee.com.au/welcome/). Also joining me is Gurney Khera, a Sikh Australian who specialises in urban planning and smart-cities, and currently pursuing research in improving intercultural urban planning policy and results in Australia. Gurney has a culturally diverse background; he speaks 3 languages, has travelled widely to Europe, the Americas and Asia, and has lived in Canada, Malaysia, Sydney and Adelaide. The abnormality of the modern Australian society is something which fascinates him.

    Ep. 3: Diverse circle of friends

    In this episode, I explore, with a couple of my friends, the beauty of having a diverse circle of friends—the ups, the downs, and the beauty of having friends who perhaps experience and see the world differently from you. Joining me in this conversation are my good friends— Michelle, whom I met at University, on a group study tour to Malaysia; and Alyse, whom I met and befriended in high (secondary) school. We three ladies come from very different backgrounds, and therefore experience life differently. In this conversation, we explore the reality of having a friend from a different background, and how this can positively contribute to one's life. Tune in to join the conversation.
