Two Reformed presbyterian ministers exploring the depths of the historic Christian faith and aiming to foster connection across Christian traditions as we commend the truth so that we might be "one flock with one Shepherd" (John 10:16).

God Doesn't Change (and that's a good thing.)
In this episode we interact with the increasingly widespread belief that God is the type of being who is like us in that He, well... changes. We would love to show from the Bible why God does not learn or change, and that's a good thing.

Is assassination ever permissible? | What is Dispensationalism? (Q&A)
In our next Q&A, we tackle two questions from our listeners.
Is assassination, say of an evil political leader, ever morally acceptable?
What does the Reformed faith teach about Dispensationalism?
Ask Eric and Bill a question to be answered in a future Q&A episode. Don't be afraid to explore the slightly weird, puzzling, even wild with us. pineridgepca.org/oneflock -
The History of the Nicene Creed
The story behind the Nicene Creed is far more dramatic than we realize. The conflict that rose to a boiling point in Alexandria, Egypt led to the gathering of the first ecumenical Christian Church council in 325AD. Today we're discussing what happened and why it is so important.

The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only begotten Son of God,
begotten of His Father before all worlds,
God of God, Light of Light,
very God of very God,
begotten, not made,
Being of one substance with the Father;
by Whom all things were made;
Who for us and for our salvation
came down from heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit
of the virgin Mary,
and was made man;
and was crucified also for us
under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered and was buried;
and the third day He rose again
according to the Scriptures,
and ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father;
and He shall come again, with glory,
to judge both the living and the dead;
Whose kingdom shall have no end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord and giver of life,
Who proceeds from the Father and the Son;
Who with the Father and the Son
together is worshiped and glorified;
Who spoke by the prophets;
And we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church;
we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins;
and we look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come.
Amen.

Nephilim/giants after the flood? | Why do Christians struggle with sin? (Q&A)
In our next Q&A, we tackle two questions from our listeners.
Ultimately, what happened to the Nephilim/giants in Genesis 6? If they were wiped out by the Flood, then what about Goliath? Was he a Nephilim?
If the Holy Spirit fills Christians, then why do we still struggle with sin in our lives? Why did the Apostles struggle with sin?

The Apostles' Creed
The Apostles' Creed: a declaration of faith confessed by Christians for centuries on centuries. The creed provides a beautifully succinct and powerful summation of the teaching of Jesus and His Apostles. It preserves a record of what some of the earliest Christians believed and deemed most central to their faith. What is the history behind the Apostles' Creed? Where did it come from, and why does it matter now?

The Apostles Creed
I believe in God the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead and buried.
He descended into hell,
on the third day rose again from the dead,
ascended into heaven,
sits at the right hand of God the Father almighty,
thence He will come to judge the living and the dead;
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

How does prayer work? | Why was Eve created from Adam's rib? (Q&A)
In our next Q&A, we tackle three questions from our listeners.
What was going on outside of Eden, besides it being wild and untamed? Were there already bad angels roaming around out there?
How do God's sovereignty and our prayers go together?
When God created Adam along with the other species, why did Eve not get created the same way and instead was made from the rib of Adam?
Ask Eric and Bill a question to be answered in a future Q&A episode. Don't be afraid to explore the slightly weird, puzzling, even wild with us.
Customer Reviews
Encouraging and uplifting
Thank you for this episode! I really appreciated the encouragement to “not break fellowship” with other Christians over secondary or tertiary issues. And I loved the reminder of the causation for our salvation - God, not us! Can’t wait to keep listening!
