Mental health and well-being is a hot topic. People in and around the rural communities of Leadhills and Coulter, mental health practitioners and public figures discuss how they feel about mental health and well-being in today's context. Does mental health manifest differently in remote communities? Is there a difference between feeling down and depression? How do I help myself? Where can I get help? We discuss these and other issues in this episode.
 

The people of Leadhills and Coulter discuss how they feel about climate change and how it impacts on their local rural communities. We talk about concerns faced by younger and older generations, how they're not always what we might assume them to be and how climate issues effect these remote locations. We also direct a few questions from the primary school children to the Scottish minister for the Environment Mairi McAllan. 

Our Own Words visits the community of Coulter, a remote rural village in Scotland's county of South Lanarkshire. We discover how that community has changed over time, how it continues to change and how those changes are experienced differently by a variety of people in and around the community. 

Residents in and around the remote Scottish village of Leadhills tell us what they think shapes the community they live in. What informs their sense of community, why it's important and how it's changed over the years. From the pupils at Leadhills primary school, to older residents along with those responsible for some of Leadhills' historic landmarks we discover a little of what community means in this remote corner of South Lanarkshire.
