Behind the White Coat: Dr. Alexander Raines (General Surgery)
The "Behind the White Coat" series continues with a faculty interview with Dr. Alexander Raines from the Department of General Surgery. Dr. Raines is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of Robotic Surgery in the Department of General Surgery. He also serves as the Co-Director of Surgical Clerkship, Residency Program Site Director for OU Edmond, and he’s one of our departmental career advisors.
Dr. Raines discusses his journey into medicine and what a career in general surgery entails, long with insight into robotic surgery, and rewards and challenges in the field.

Diagnosing Med School: The Non-Traditional Student Experience
Dr. Smith welcomes two second-year medical students, Jacob Curtis and Julie Hodgden. This episode of the Diagnosing Med School series focuses on what medical school is like for the Non-Traditional Student. Behind the White Coat: Interview with Dr. Chinni Pokala (Pediatrics)
For our next installment in the Behind the White Coat series, we are focusing on pediatrics. We have Dr. Hanumantha “Chinni” Pokala, who is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Pokala also serves as the Division’s fellowship program director. We have Dr. Lindsey Collins, who is an Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology, where she holds the Richard and Adeline Fleischaker Chair in Dermatology Research and serves as the Director of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology.
