Outlander creates a mythic universe in the same way that Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars does. There is magic and bad guys, and while sometimes there is terrible sacrifice, ultimately, the universe finds balance. So in this episode, we look at the various purposes of sacrifice, the recurring themes of sacrifice in Outlander - primarily around ritual, war, and honor - and what that means for the series and us.

Not just for the religious
TBH as a more secular person, I was skeptical of this pod. But Jayme and Terry’s approach is so grounded in critical thought that anyone who loves Outlander will find deep value in their discussions. In this polarized political climate, it’s easy to forget about those who use theology to find truth rather than push an agenda. You will love how they bravely navigate the gray areas of religion, spirituality, and humanity using Outlander as their vessel.
Food for the soul
Just discovered this podcast via a suggestion from another fan. What a beautiful idea! And what a joy it is to listen to a peaceful, intelligent, thoughtful discussions inspired by the philosophical/spiritual themes of Outlander books and show. Really loving this feminine and feminist perspective. Definitely recommending it to my (female) UU minister (maybe this will finally help her start reading the books too 😀)
