Safe: Through The Fire | Daniel 3

Have you ever felt pressure to compromise your faith—to bow to something other than God? Babylon represents the culture of compromise, calling us to trade faithfulness for comfort. In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refuse to bow to Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image, even when threatened with the fiery furnace. Their story reminds us of this truth: Faithfulness means resistance. Resolve leads to resilience. And our refuge is not found in avoiding the fire, but in walking with Jesus through it. 💡 In this message from the SAFE Series, Pastor Josh shares on : Resistance — Faithfulness to God means resisting pressure, refusing idols, and standing firm in a culture of compromise. Resolve — A holy determination to obey God, even when it costs us. “Even if He does not… we will not bow.” (Daniel 3:18) Resilience — The fire didn’t consume them; it freed them. What bound them was burned off, and the Son of God stood with them in the flames. 📖 Key Scriptures: Daniel 3 Isaiah 43:2–3 — “When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up…” 2 Chronicles 16:9, 1 John 5:21, 1 Peter 2:11–12 🔥 Big Truth: Jesus doesn’t always deliver us from the fire, but He will always walk with us through the fire. Part of the SAFE Series — a journey through Scripture where we discover God as our refuge: our strong tower, our safe place, and our Savior in the storm, the flood, and the fire. www.overflowdfw.com Support the show

    Safe: Obey | Jonah 1-4

📖 “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” – Proverbs 18:10(NIV) Jonah ran from God, but he couldn’t outrun His mercy. When a storm raged and the sea threatened to destroy him, God didn’t let Jonah drown—He preserved him in the belly of a great fish. What looked like punishment was actually protection, and what felt like a prison became Jonah’s place of prayer, hearing, and obedience. In this message, Pastor Josh shares from Jonah’s journey and shows us that: God’s storms are often His mercy, designed to bring us back. Our purpose is not found in our gift but in our obedience.Grace often shows up in the place of our greatest discomfort.Just as Jonah was preserved three days in the fish, Jesus was preserved three days in the grave—so we might be safe forever in Him.🔥 Key Themes: A. Jonah Prays (Jonah 2:1) B. Jonah Hears (Jonah 3:1) C. Jonah Obeys (Jonah 3:4–5, 10) Even when Jonah disobeyed out of anger and hatred, God was patient, merciful, and compassionate—not only to Nineveh, but also to Jonah himself. His story reminds us: it’s never too late to run back to God. 👉 Scriptures: Proverbs 18:10; Jonah 1–4; 1 John 5:3; Matthew 12:39; Romans 5:19 👉 Series: SAFE – exploring God as our refuge through the storms, seas, and struggles of life. 💬 Drop a comment: Where have you experienced God’s mercy in the middle of your “storm”?
